TheKingofNipples
Hi all, I'm mostly a lurker but didn't find a topic regarding this, so I'd like to ask for a bit of help. I had to have my main SDD wiped due to issues with my OS, and a lot of programs had to be reinstalled, including Vortex. However, my Skyrim SE game install, along with all mod files and installations, were in my secondary drive, and were unaffected by the wipe. Now that I'm reinstalling Vortex it seems like it (expectedly) is not detecting Skyrim SE as having any mods installed of any kind, and I'll assume that trying to shove all the mod files into the Vortex mods folder will not work in the slightest, but I have not tried to open Skyrim SE without setting up Vortex or something for fear of anything getting f***ed beyond repair. So I guess my question is, is there any halfway sane way of salvaging without having to reinstall every mod from scratch? Or am I simply better off starting over? Thanks for any help you can give and let me know if I f***ed up posting like this. It's the first time posting on here and might not be too clear on how this place works. HadToRegister
There's plenty of threads about this, that's why I have a text file with the path in it so I can copy and paste for these threads. You needed to back up you C:\users\<YOUR NAME>\appdata\roaming\Vortex folder before formatting
TheKingofNipples
Hi, Thanks for answering. I have a hard time browsing forums in general so I guess I messed up not looking in further. Had no chance to back anything up as my OS was malfunctioning and it had to get fixed up in a rush, but from how you worded that, I'll assume there's not much to be done at this point besides redownloading everything, then? Thanks for taking the time either way.

Thanks for taking the time either way. It depends what drive you had your Vortex DOWNLOAD folder on. If your Vortex download folder was on another drive, then you already have all of the mod archives and don't have to download them
