NVidia GPU for PhysX

It was fashion some years ago for AMD/ATI GPU users to get an NVidia card as second GPU for the PhysX parts of a game. Is that still valid? I have an old MSI 460GTX HAWK Talon Attack (2GB V-RAM) and was wondering if installing it next (or below) my Vega64 would still give a slight advantage for rendering PhysX.

i would say no. haven't found any recommendations in this direction in the last years. compared to a 460gtx a newer gpu is factor 10x or more faster than the 460gtx and i doubt that the additional rendering power of this old card is a win or in relation to the additional heat, power consumption, stability risks and the additional synchronization and data management overhead generated by such an unconventional combination.
