Barbara917
I have never used this feature but would like to begin for obvious reasons. One of the things I would like to manage between saved games is which Fallout 4 version/game executable the saved game uses. Is there a way to manage the game executable itself or must I do that myself and just keep a record of which executable the saved game uses? HadToRegister
No, you can't switch between exes. Why use two different exes?
Barbara917
No, you can't switch between exes. Why use two different exes? I am not an experienced modder. One of the reasons I like Vortex is that it figures a lot of this stuff out for me. Every time I update Fallout 4 I manage to break something. Because I don't have the knowledge I am never sure what it is I have done wrong. What I have done until now is play just one saved game on a stable load order that is working for me and then I don't monkey with the load order. That is precisely why I would like to start using profiles so that I can try out new mods without breaking the load order for my existing game. Before I update Fallout 4 I have to be willing to abandon my old saved games and start from scratch.
HadToRegister
Updating the Fallout4.exe doesn't make your savegames not work with it.You can update Fallout 4 and your mods to the new version and your savegame should continue to work, mine do.The only time your savegame will stop working is if you remove or add mods
