nivea
Nexus does not allow ripped items (aka stolen content), the modder is right to not post their stuff here because it would cause them to be banned.
dragnhuntr666
If that's the case then all the mods with the same textures from other games should be pulled as well. I've seen a lot of Halo armor and clothing from Resident Evil being posted in the Nexus, yet they claim they "created" those mods. Maybe this guy is just doin' the same stuff as everyone else. For the Liara mod he has, he would have to re-texture and readjust everything just to work for FONV. Bioware and Bethesda doesn't use the same methods to make their games. Thus is the reason I would love to see him at the Nexus with everyone else.
JimboUK
There's a big difference between recreating something and directly porting assets from other games, anyone found uploading assets they don't have permission to use are shown the door. Thus is the reason I would love to see him at the Nexus with everyone else. For Liara he more then likely took her face model and textures straight from ME, then put them in Blender and attached them to a FNV skeleton and body. Yes he did do some work to make that happen, BUT he did NOT make the meshes and textures himself those are taken from ME a game you need to pay for. If you did not buy the game you should not get the stuff from it for free, thats stealing and why its not allowed. Now if he took a screenshot of Liara for inspiration and by hand made a new head model and then hand made brand new face textures, that would be perfectly ok to release because he DID make the stuff himself from scratch. Thats the difference between ripping and creating one just takes someones elses already made items and puts then in another game, the other makes brand new items inspired by other games but did all the work themselves. QuidProQuoBrute
So there is no ethical issue with me downloading and using this myself if I own all the related games right? Edited January 10, 2013 by QuidProQuoBrute
nivea
So there is no ethical issue with me downloading and using this myself if I own all the related games right? Well the companies do not like that kind of thing because they are in competition. If you paid and owned all the games you can make the mod yourself so long as you do not release it, thats perfectly fine. Ethically I can not say, I would not feel bad about making and useing a mod like that if I owned all the games myself. Others will say its not right to do so even if you bought the games because you do not own the assets themselves. Then there are people who will say as long as no one is making money off any of the items in the mod it should be fine to upload all they want. This kind of thing is left up to you, and your ethics, but none of them are allowed on Nexus and since this is a Nexus forum thats really all that matters.
