My Mod was downloaded and installed through vortex but it didn't move to my data folder

I was really exited to try this mod download. I already have different mods through the bethesda site but I wanted one that was not in the bethesda site for PC. So I downloaded the mod and installed it but the mod did not move to the data of my game and I had to reenable all the mods I had previously through Bethesda. Was there something I am missing?

Understand that mods installed through Vortex NEVER move to your data folder.

They live in your mod staging folder and a hard link to them (or a sym link) is placed in your data folder.

I can't tell you much about Bethesda mods - I avoid the Creation Club like the plague.

You don't say how you installed the non-Bethesda mod.

Correct way, if not from Nexusmods, is to manually download it and drag it to the Vortex Mod page (Drop Files). Then Install and Deploy.
