massminer2343
I am unable to manage/view any of my mods for Fallout 4/Skyrim after transferring my games to a new drive. none of the mods appear in the manager's menus and i cannot find a way to get them imported back. (First post on the forum I am sorry if i miss any information)Nexus version: 1.2.19Windows version: Windows 10 home version 1909Fallout 4 version: 1.10.163FFSE version 0.6.21Drives: WD blue 1TB SSD, WD blue 1TB Hard disk drive I recently purchased a new SSD after my old HD got filled up, I wanted Fallout 4 among other games to run faster so I copied my games from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 to F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout 4, initially the game ran fine and all the mods were loaded properly on the second drive, however when i attempted to make a change to my mods Vortex was unable to find/load any of the mods likely because vortex was still installed at C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Local\Vortex and the games were on the second drive. My Issue begins when I attempted to troubleshoot the problem myself i tried moving vortex to the second drive (F: drive) as well as importing the mods from the mods and data folders in my Fallout installation. I have so far been unable to get Vortex to detect my mods in any sensible way. I looked through this https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/8900388-moving-vortex-and-skyrim-se/ forum post to see if it could help me. However, since i have already moved fallout and attempted to fix my issues i couldn't get their solution to work for me. If anyone has a method for getting Vortex to register already downloaded mods i will greatly appreciate the help. My game is heavily modded over 100 mods totaling over 50gigs of storage space and i am hoping i dont have to reinstall all of it. also if you need my files to help fix the problem i dont know a great way to get them to you. If I have missed any information let me know so i can get it to you. Thank you in advance. Massminer
HadToRegister
You needed to copy the C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Local\Vortex folder to the new C:\ drive as well, that's where vortex stores it's dataWhatever you do, don't just move Vortex around willy-nilly using the Windows File Explorer, because you're making changes OUTSIDE of Vortex that Vortex, or any program won't know about. rmm200
If you move your game without doing a Vortex Purge first - bad things happen.Windows will do a Deep Copy of each mod pointed to by a hard link, and you wind up with a bloated game containing real copies of your mods.It is also unmanageable by Vortex at that point.
