Mookeylama
my premium expired on Jan 21st. was gonna re-subscribe yesterday but i kept getting a warning that my account was still active and i'd loose any time i had left on that subscription, if i reupped at that time. thought it odd because some references was saying i had expired, while some stated i was still active. anyway, thought i'd wait til today to reupp. see if i still got that warning. well i go to reup today, and prices are higher. i was gonna get a 3month yesterday and it was about 4.49 GBP. today it's 6.99 gpb or something. why is it higher today, and can i get yesterday's price? thanks
Dark0ne
I received a PM on this topic very recently so what I'll do is just copy and paste what I wrote as a response to the same question, as it should answer it for you: The Premium system is supposed to pro-rate any payments you make. As an example, if you buy 3 months premium membership at £6.99, and 2 months in to your membership you decide to pay for a 6 month membership, the cost of the 6 month membership, which is usually £11.99, will come minus the £6.99 you've already paid, for a final price of £5.00, but you'll only get an additional 3 months of time. Hope that makes sense. Basically the higher the package you buy, the best £/month deal you get, so the system is designed to give you the best deal based on what you've previously paid. Admittedly it does seem slightly confusing but checking your history you've bought 3 months membership at £6.99 running from [redacted] (3 months) and then 6 months membership at £5.00 running from [redacted] (3 months). So in total you've paid £11.99 for 6 months, which is correct. I hope this explains things a bit better. I think the best thing might be to let your current subscription expire completely and then see if the prices equalise out. You'll never pay more than the quoted amounts (except in the EU where we have to charge tax by law :( ), and if you pay less, you'll be getting less time as a result (as happened with your "6 month" membership). Mookeylama
ah, i kinda understand what you're sayin. but not sure what was up with mine yesterday tho. because it didn't seem to fit what your posted about. i was getting all the "go premium" stuff here at the site, but when i went to reup, it was telling me i still had time left, which must've been just a few hours because i'm not getting the time left thing today. plus if it's prorated i think it was off yesterday. because it was showing 2+ gpb lower (3 month) for what must've just been a few hours for me. so that's a large % lower for just a few hours. anyway, it's not a big deal. just didn't know what was happening. i will ask this here since i just thought of it. what happens if you're a paid member and you get banned for some reason? do you get some sorta refund? now just know i've never been banned from anywhere. i'm not a trouble maker. i was just curious because i'm thinking of getting the lifetime membership and i've seen some sites get a lil ban happy, sometimes unfairly. i've not seen that here. was mainly thinking of GameFAQS and others. but was just curious how that worked. thanks! Dark0ne
If you bought a 1 month membership at £2.49 and went to re-up your membership to a 3 month membership at £6.99 with only 1 day to spare, you'd pay £4.50 and get 2 additional months of time + 1 day from your previous subscription, not 3 months of time. So all in all you'd have paid £6.99 for 3 months either way. The same would have happened in your situation. If you'd bought the membership at the "lower price" you'd have ended up getting 2 months + 3 hours of time for £4.50, rather than 3 months of time. No one gets screwed by this system. If a Premium Member gets banned they can ask for a refund. I have no interest in holding on to money from people who aren't capable of sticking to the rules! I've done it plenty of times in the past, no questions asked.
