Preview File Not Working when looking at conflicts

So I'm trying to decide which texture mod I want to use in skyrim and when I click preview file in vortex nothing happens.

I'm able to open up the individual files with nif viewer in windows 10 no problem but with so many files to choose between if i had the functionality of vortex's preview file available it would speed things way up.

Anyone know if im supposed to link my nif program to vortex some way or if this function should work right out of the box?

Can anyone verify that this functionality actually works with their Vortex? Maybe it just hasn't been implemented yet?

Hey FoxClubNiner,

I believe that this functionality isn't working in the current release, however it should be working again in the next update. There was a change to the way Vortex detects conflicts that we'll be reverting as it caused a lot of issues like this one.

Gotcha. Thanks for the help and I look forward to the next release!

Please check if this works correctly in 1.2.20.

The "preview" feature is extensible so technically if someone wrote a .nif or .dds viewer extension for vortex we could view and compare these files inside Vortex but for every file type not explicitly supported within Vortex we attempt to open them by invoking the windows default for handling that file type so if you have an application set up in windows to open .nif files, that should be invoked when you preview the file in Vortex.
