Vortex Mod Endorsement Partially Working - Not Incrementing Count

After refreshing the mod web page:

• The "ENDORSE" option on the mod page has changed to "EDORSED" and changed color.
• The Endorsements counter on the mod page does not increment.
• These endorsements do not show up in my Nexus profile under Recent Activity.

If it were not for the ENDORSE button changing I would have just expected it was taking a while. But then I went back and checked several mods that I have endorsed in this manner recently, and all of them have the button changed to ENDORSED and none of them are under my Recent Activity.

 

At least in my case, numerous mods are not getting the credit they deserve.

The endorsement count on the mod page gets cached so it sometimes takes a few minutes to update. I'm also fairly sure endorsements through a mod manager will not show up in your Recent Activity as that's currently not possible to do from a technical perspective.

@Pickysaurus, thanks for the info! I'm less concerned about my Recent Activity; that is just something that caught my eye as I was investigating.

 

The endorsement count is another matter. Before I started this topic, I did several side-by-side tests involving endorsing via the mod page vs. Vortex. I was seeing the endorsement count increment in a timely manner when done by the mod page. I never saw the endorsement count increment when done via Vortex, even when checking a day or two later.

@Pickysaurus, my apologies. I ran another test, taking screen shots to document. I did see my "test" mods reflect an increment in endorsements within about 25 minutes.

 

One had two endorsements, pointing out that my testing method is not reliable because I have no idea what users worldwide might also be endorsing the mod: There is essentially no delay when endorsing via the mod page itself, and the "Endorsed" button pops up without delay when done on the mod page or by Vortex. I'm having to trust that the increments that came 25 minutes later were in fact "my" endorsements.

 

And there is still the issue of my previous test that still didn't show an increase the next day...but then I did not take screenshots so there is no documantation.

 

I'll give Vortex the benefit of the doubt, but just 'cause you're such a helpful guy! :smile:
