SKSE Not Updating on Vortex

Hello, I am using Vortex 1.2.20 and trying to mod Skyrim SE. I've got just under 70 mods and have 16gb of RAM on Windows 10, x64. I'm new to modding with Vortex, and I got this error saying;

"skeevr.dll (00000000 <NULL> 00000000) reported as incompatible during query" (<manually installed>): reported as incompatible during query

I saw that the error said that this normally happens when you try to load mods which are not compatible with the installed version of the script extender, so I updated it, or at least I though I did. The game crashed on start. I looked around the internet and couldn't find anybody with the same problem. I went back and saw that even though I had updated SKSE64 from 2.0.18 to 2.0.19, it said I still had the older version. I tried updating again and it stayed at the 2.0.18 version. I deleted it and made sure the files were no longer on my computer, and tried to install the newer version again. It is still showing 2.0.18 and saying it has an update, even though the update doesn't actually change anything. I'm not sure why this would be happening, hence the forum. Sorry for the long post.

I just manually downloaded the 2.0.19 skse64 and manually installed it, and says 2.0.18

It's not Vortex that isn't updating it, the wrong version number was either put on the download link, or they forgot to update the version number in the exe

skeevr.dll is for skyrim VR, just rename the skeevr.dll to something like skeevr.dll.BAK and see if Vortex stops complaining

I just got that message as well.

However, I noticed a nice new feature.

Go to the MODS Tab, a switch called EXTENDER ERROR should magically show up in the column between DEPENDENCIES and ACTIONS, if you turn that switch to the ON position, it will filter your Mod list and show which mods need to be updated.
My list is empty

Works great, what a relief! The game still is not starting but the error is no longer popping up. I'll do some deeper digging, and see what I can find. Thanks so much!

Crashing on start usually means there's a missing master (Vortex should tell you that) or, you're using a mod that is meant for Skyrim instead of Skyrim Special Edition, OR you're using a mod that requires another mod in order to work

Hah! Wish Iâd seen that earlier. I had to go and disable my SKSE dependent mods one by one last week to find the one causing my error. I knew it had to be one of the most recent, but this would have helped immensely.

Note to self: Pay attention to the change log and screen changes!

Yea, it's weird, apparently it magically shows up if you have a version problem between SKSE and SKSE mods, then disappears again when you've fixed the problem

Doesn't Vortex generally tell you when one of those problems are present?

Yes it does, but I was just mentioning them in case he had missed them or dismissed them
