sheetka
So I cured myself after Harkon bit me. I didn't finish any quests after that bite, I only have some quest active where I need to fill a chalice with blood or something. So now I cured myself from being a vampire, because after some screwing around as a vampire I found out I absolutely hated it, and want to start the dawnguard quests.I've been to ford dawnguard and they don't attack me or anything but I can only find 3 npc excluding isran(?, the leader of the dawnguard). They don't offer me quests or anything so is there any way to continue the dawnguard quests now without switching to a previous save, because that's surely not an option anymore. edit: Found isran, hes not offering any quests :(
hector530
you can get better vampires mod which makes being a vampire fun http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9717 or you can do this quest to get rid of it http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Rising_at_Dawn
dukesilver28
I'm 99.99% sure that once you choose to accept "Harkon's gift," you have to finish the Dawnguard quest line on the side of the vampires. I don't think you can switch sides like you can early on in the Civil War quest line. The Dawnguard won't offer you quests whether you're a vampire or not from this point forward, and I don't think the vampires will let you continue on with your quests with them until you regain your vampirism (if you cured it). Harkon will give it to you again if needed. Hector530 is right about the Better Vampires mod, though: it's lots of fun and it gives a ton of options for customization. I'd give it a look. However, if you still don't want to play as a vampire, then you'll have to revert back to a save you made before letting Harkon turn your character into a vampire, then refuse his offer. Xaikarik
I've never played as a vampire, I usually always go for werewolf, lots of fun and an awesome boost in attack :) I'd strongly suggest it if you haven't already
daniel42i21
+1 for the better vampires mod. It is awesome, enhances the vanilla vampirism beyond belief and makes vampires sooo much fun. Apparently there's equally good lycanthropy mods but after better vampires I just couldn't imagine going back. Screw signing up with dawnguard, just grab better vampires and slaughter/enslave them all. Would've been nice to have the crossbows though... Alpr
I absolutely love vampire now, thanks to the new eye textures and the better vampires mod. Incredibly fun to turn towns and villages into all vampires :D Plus it acts as a shortcut to having NPCs like you. Want the heartfire properly quick? Turn the jarl into a vampire, and you can bypass doing the one or two quests before normally unlocking it.
BCbrad
I have never really understood how vampirism or lycanthropy fits in to the Elder Scrolls. I almost feel that thanks to hollywood popularizing them Bethesda swqueezed them in to make the games more exciting for fans of vampires and werewolves.
