Barbara917
I am a casual modder who is thankful for the Vortex tool and all that it does to make modding easier and more accessible to folks like me. When something does not work out right I assume it is due to my error from ignorance and I try to figure out what it is I am doing wrong. I don't know what is going on with SKSE64 plugins which is the point of this post. It used to be every time Bethesda updated the Special Edition executable SKSE64 and all dependent plugins had to be updated before they would work correctly. Now I am seeing that that no longer appears to be the case for dependent plugins. Upon attempting to install SSE Engine Fixes I learned from it's forum post sticky that there is now an address library mod that is supposed to remove the plugin dependency. I tried following the instructions for installation as precisely as I could and got weird results. At first, Vortex appeared happy with the installation. I was able to run the game and everything looked fine in-game. The next time I ran Vortex, however, it kept flagging a script extender plugin error on the SSE Engine Fixes part one. But it appeared to be in some kind of "I can't make up my mind" mode about that. Sometimes it would be fine and then all of a sudden Vortex would start flagging the error then it would quit again. My question is "What have I done wrong, here?" Have I really made a mistake in the installation of SSE Engine Fixes or have I somehow messed up my Vortex application? Currently, Vortex is not complaining about a script extender on SSE Engine Fixes in spite of my having done nothing to change that installlation because I couldn't figure out what I did wrong. rmm200
Vortex does not generate any plugin error messages. It is just reporting what the plugin log says from the last time the game was run.Any error messages you see are generated by the plugin or SKSE.One thing guaranteed to give you an SKSE message is installing a 32 bit dll on Skyrim SE. That is true for all LE mods with plugins, and a few SE mods with unconverted plugins.DD was one. The advice in that specific case was to delete the plugin. Barbara917
What is the exact error it's spitting out. Also, be aware that some SKSE dependent mods haven't been upgraded to use the dll library In the upper left corner of the mods page/tab a column appears with an exclamation point in a triangle and the message that there is a script extender error. When i click the more information it tells me the error is with the SSE Engine Fixes Part 1 plugin. I don't recall any more specifics than that. I installed the plugin two days ago at which time there were no errors reported. Yesterday when I continued working on building a new load order in spite of having made no changes to that plugin's installation I got this error message constantly. If I closed out Vortex and restarted it would start up fine with no errors detected and then after I resumed work on other unrelated mods it would all of a sudden start spitting out the error. I spent most of the rest of the day troubleshooting what possible missteps I made in installing that mod and found nothing. SSE Engine Fixes Part 1 does use the dll library if I am understanding you correctly. It appears that PapyrusUtil has not been updated. Please correct me on that if I am mistaken. I am just going off what I am reading on those mod pages and in the posts section of the respective pages. So I spent the rest of the day learning how to install Dyndolod DLL in place of PapyrusUtil. Today I am not getting the error. I am guessing that I installed it correctly and the problem is something I have done with Vortex. I try to watch Gopher's tutorials really carefully before I try something new and yesterday I was trying to install an ENB and run Dydnolod on a final load order. Today I am testing out the game with my current build and the error has vanished. I am just trying to figure out what it is I was doing wrong. I am guessing it was some kind of user error with Vortex. That is why I am asking.
HadToRegister
Have you updated SKSE64 to 2.0.19?Because people were getting this SKSE error with 2.0.
Barbara917
Have you updated SKSE64 to 2.0.19? Because people were getting this SKSE error with 2.0.17 Yes. SKSE64 2.0.19 rel 6. I skipped 2.0.17 entirely. I have been playing offline with an old release for most of the year which is one of the reasons I have been building a completely new load order from scratch. Everthing was out of date and I couldn't try out new mods without updating everything. The Vortex error has gone away and Wolfpack49 on the SSE Engine Fixes forum post page kindly checked out my d3dx9_42.log and said it looked good. I'm chalking this up to unknowingly fixing whatever it was I was unknowingly doing wrong for now.
