What would be the best method to merge all of these? Like keep the others in one pack, and the Lanterns in it's own pack. Or can I fuse them all? Everything that can be merged at all can be merged with everything else that can be merged. (with a few exceptions) So you could make one ESP which is a merged file of all those other ESPs you listed. I would not recommend merging ClimatesOfTamriel.esm. You can merge the patch files, but don't merge the ESM. Merging ESMs is not a supported function and will give you problems 90% of the time. I want to clarify things before i can move on. I have various mods which add items to the world, either craftable, or buyable, or placed in specific areas. They DO eat up a nice bite of the load order limit, so i'd love to reduce it a bit by merging said mods. This is some big merging, and i'm sure things can go wrong, and not everything will be possible to enter the final merged esp. If my load order is needed, i can post it too. [looking at jaysus swords here.] why some BSAs should be extracted after merging?Skyrim looks at the name of the ESP/ESM. So JSwords.esm for example the BSA is JSwords.bsa. Once you merge the files your plugin might be called MyArmorMods.esp. So Skyrim will look for MyArmorMods.bsa and if it does not find that then it looks for the files in the folders indicated in the plugin. In either case if you don't unpack the BSA file and copy the files where they need to go Skyrim can't find the files and any number of things will happen or Skyrim will crash. You normally don't merge ESM files because if you download a mod that requires JSwords.esm but you merged it into MyArmorMods.esp you would then logically, uninstall JSwords.esm because it's not needed. Now the mod that requires JSwords.esm will cause Skyrim to crash because the ESM file does not exist. Skyrim won't know that all the resources for JSwords.esm are in your plugin MyArmorMods.esp. Either way, thanks to the link matortheeternal directed me to, i'll be making multiple smaller mergings, which is still going to reduce my load order by a lot and things will be more organized. Because you would not want to have JSwords.esm active and MyArmorMods.esp at the same time. You would have duplicate weapons and your drive would be filled with duplicate files. Normally people don't have that many ESM files, so just merge your ESP files. Experiment one mod at a time. Do what they are doing in the link Mator gave you. Try one test it, if it crashes then you know you can't merge that mod. Post the results so others don't try it. I "might" and it's a big "might" look at some of the files that aren't merging. Meaning, Jswords.esm won't be touched at all, but the jswordsdistributionbalanceplugin.ESP would be merged with other mods... maybe still keeping the esm as a master file?
