Vortex crashes/freezes; won't launch. Never happened before.

All of the sudden Vortex won't launch. At first it got stuck in some sort of crash/launch loop, and after waiting a bit I finally got this screen:

It then said an update was available. I restarted, it installed, and now nothing. Vortex just hangs and never launches.

Help!

The very end of my log says:

Thu, 10 Sep 2020 00:10:56 GMT - debug: all extensions compatible
Thu, 10 Sep 2020 00:10:56 GMT - info: all extensions initialized
Thu, 10 Sep 2020 00:10:57 GMT - error: crashed

If you have Windows Defender, turn off "Controlled folder access", if you use some other AV program, turn it off, and install vortex right over the top of Vortex again.

Sometimes, AV programs block certain parts of Vortex from installing because of False Flags

Okay thanks, I'll try that. If I install it on top of itself will it remember all my previous settings? I've got a ton of Fallout 4 and Skryim mods, saves, and profiles. Don't want to lose the setup.

Hmm, that's weird, and unfortunately, you can't use Vortex to report the problem because it's in a perpetual state of crashing

This one is going to take Tannin42 (the dev) to figure out

Wait a minute, so if you wait long enough you can get into Vortex?

If so, then click on the bell to hide those notifications, and click the 3 vertical dots up in the right hand corner and pick SEND FEEDBACK, then select BUG REPORT

Fill out the info, and if you know where the log files are, attach it.

You can generate one by clicking on the 3 vertical dots, pick DIAGNOSTIC FILES, then select the current date, and uncheck the BLUE text, and leave the Orange and Red text checked, select COPY TO CLIPBOARD, and paste it into a txt file on your computer,, save that txt filew, and drag and drop it to Vortex

No, after the update to the new version I can't get into Vortex anymore no matter how long I wait. It's stuck in a perma-loading/crash loop.

When you updated to the new version did it tell you that you can't roll back to an older version?

No, the re-install went fine. No error messages.

No, I mean when Vortex initially updated to the new version, did it tell you you can't rollback?

If it didn't, then I would suggest rolling back to 1.2.20, but, if during the update to 1.3.4 it said this is a ONE WAY update, then I wouldn't suggest it.
