Sirturtle21 Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Okay so I've always wanted to try and mod games on my PC. So far Stardew Valley is the only time I've been able to get mods working. Recently downloaded Vortex and followed through the steps to install/download mods. I'm playing Morrowind and trying to mod it, two mods installed, both not working. I have zero clue as to what I'm doing wrong and an error message popped up when I opened Vortex (Something about updating an older version). Not sure if that would be why it isn't working. This is my first time ever using a mod manager, let alone trying to mod. If you can offer any support I'd appreciate and I'd like to apologize in advance since I will not know anything.
rmm200 Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Start simple. Where did you get Vortex from and what version is it? Click the Vortex vertical ellipsis in the upper right and select About.
HadToRegister Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 First, Morrowind is an old game, and it's quite possible the mods you downloaded and tried to install with a mod manager weren't packaged correctly, because mods for older games were expected to be installed manually as there were no Mod Managers back then.Post the names of the mods so I can go check the layout of the zip files

Go to SETTINGS-------->INTERFACE and make sure that both "Deploy Mods when Enabled" and "Enable Mods when Installed" are turned ON. Go tot eh MODS Tab, and check if the two mods are ENABLED.
Jimimy Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 If you’re new to the modding scene, there are a few potential risks worth noting. As with any third-party content, make sure to download from reputable sources.
MANGC12345 Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 I downloaded vortex its on my C drive. My steam games are on my external, D drive. I put my staging folder also in my D drive. I used the suggest and applied it to my D drive (Vortex Mods). My download is also on my D drive under (Games Download). I downloaded the mod play as anyone for the game Greedfall. In my staging and download folder I believe the mod didn't download correctly in them. Its like there's empty making the mod not work. I've read and read about staging and download folders nothing helps. I really need help I really want to use the mods. I appreciate your cooperation

Double checked, they are enabled and deployed. Perhaps it may be where the file location is? I believe I have it set to go into Morrowind itself. Maybe I should change the download location?
