inthedark7 Posted September 30, 2020 Share Posted September 30, 2020 (edited) So I noticed something today. It always bothered me that the pipboy light left my character dark. However, I never noticed that when you first turn it on, it actually lights up your character until you either zoom with a weapon or go into the pipboy screen. Then it goes black. I never noticed because I'm in the pipboy a lot or scoping. Anyone know how to make it always light up from behind? I attached an image showing what I mean. Maybe it could be modded, or it's an INI setting? I don't know how these things work. Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Edit: I know the animation changed, that doesn't affect the lighting. Even if I holster my weapon, I'm still blacked out. Now that I know about this "glitch" I'm constantly turning my light off and back on when I go back to third person - which is super annoying lol. I do have lighting mods, but I've disabled all mods and ran it vanilla with the same lighting issue. Karna5 Posted March 12 Share Posted March 12 I'm not sure I understand the complaint here. This is Nexus Mods, so does nobody use the Pip-Boy Flashlight mod? It changes the flashlight to be a directional beam with shadows which originates behind your body, so your back and what's in front of you is lit up. I have many films in the Supporter section which use this as it's a gorgeous lighting mechanic, but after searching my films carefully, I can't find any which I'm entirely sure are safe to link in the general audience section here. So I can't give an example. But if anyone wants their back lit up with directional light and shadows, Pip-Boy Flashlight is the solution. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
CheezeOfAstora Posted March 13 Share Posted March 13 (edited) @Karna5 Hey, thanks for the answer, but I have tried the Pipboy Flashlight mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10840/?tab=description But this mod does not make the back side of the character light up when using the flashlight, the emittance of light for this mod is only from the front of the head or the pip boy itself, and both of these options emit light in front of the character. The Vanilla Pipboy light in 3rd person emits light in all directions in 3rd person, but after opening the Pipboy menu or using any terminal the Pipboy light switches to emit light only in front and side, and the character's backside becomes completely dark.
