starfire42
This sort of experience is rather common when the user (or a program the user runs) modifies system settings or services without understanding which ones are used by their particular setup and installed programs. I doubt the modder had any malicious intentions. I suspect their only real fault was assuming that everybody else was using the same basic setup they had, and didn't have programs with special requirements. Â I can't tell you how much time I've spent trying to make something work after I'd changed or disable a key service, and I'm a certified computer tech (A+, MCSA) and know what I'm doing. That's why I didn't install that mod, even though I was sorely tempted. I've burned my hands in that fire way too many times. Burnout122812
Kudos for taking down that mod. He was not understanding why people we're having problems and/or complaining about his mod. Thank gosh its gone. I was so worried about all these people downloading it and not having much computer knowledge to fix anything if there was a problem. modji33
He (the uploader) PROMISED to have a revert fix up, quote "tomorrow." Something that will make your computer exactly how it was before running the TYC.exe.He said 'track the file' it is coming. So far.... nothing. The TYC page is still blocked, and has been for more than 24 hours. RockMic
First of all sorry for my english I'm Italian. I do not count anything are already a few years that I attend assiduously Nexus are passionate about mod like so many others, and there are a couple of things I do not understand. 1) There is no one to check out what is released. 2) It pervades the bad habit that is all'improviso done away with something that even enters the top without any reason and explanation to those who perhaps unwisely used as mè should know immediately what you and gone to meet, then make public the clear and immediate 'information instead of having to search the forum and sometimes without sucesso (and already having to ask what happened to made a mod). Katohh
Hi guy, so I also installed this "mod", but... well i don't really have any complains so far... I have none of the before mentioned symptoms. Is my pc faster now?.... ehm well I can't really tell for that matter either way. So I'm kinda scared though by all this forum talk about this being malware and whatnot. So heres my question for you guys. Should I delete the "mod", or just ignore it? Shubal
Being a noob, I almost DLed it but was lucky enough to catch the howls and warnings. Someone mentioned CCleaner as a safer thing. So I downloaded CCleaner instead and ran that. It ate all my auto loggin info for sites, but that was nothing compared to what could have been with TYC. I'd like to see mods classified some how with respect to whether they are harmless to add or remove, whether they are script laden and will leave a permanent presence if you change your mind about using it. Some heirarchy of types and the consequent attention needed. A lot of folks that are new don't know a game overhall mod is more serious than an individual weapon retexture mod.
