LordPhoenix82nd
So really weird question. I have a music mod that requires Cathedral Weathers, but CW is merged together with some other weather related mods, thus the Cathedral Weathers.esp is no longer present. Even though MO2 is showing the Missing Master warning, it shouldn't cause any issues since CW is still technically there, right?
DoctorKaizeld
it can cause issues if the mod is looking for the esp and cannot find it. You really shouldn't merge mods that have other mods reliant on it

Even though MO2 is showing the Missing Master warning, it shouldn't cause any issues since CW is still technically there, right?Merging mods that are masters/dependencies doesn't sound wise to me. Two possible workarounds that don't require you to undo the merging: (a) create a dummy CW plugin file to satisfy the need for its mere existence, (b) since you're obviously fine with altering existing mods, edit the music mod and replace the CW Master declaration with the name of your merged (master?) plugin. I have no certainty that either of those will work, as I've never had reason to try either one.
LordPhoenix82nd
It actually wasn't my choice to merge mods like that with each other. That's what it requires you to do in Lexy's LOTD Plus guide. Thanks for the answers though, I'll work something out
HadToRegister
It actually wasn't my choice to merge mods like that with each other. That's what it requires you to do in Lexy's LOTD Plus guide. Thanks for the answers though, I'll work something out I think you need to go through that guide again slowly, nobody would tell you to merge mods that haphazardly. And honestly, if the guide DOES tell you to do that, I'd stop using that guide. LordPhoenix82nd
I definitely followed the guide with 100% accuracy. I've been modding a very long time, but just decided to give it a go for fun. The guide is effectively in a beta state, so I'll be reporting issues and poor decisions like merging esps like this. Algabar
I don't know the guide you're following, but nowadays you basically shouldn't merge anything. If you really need more plugin slots, convert .esp plugins to "light" plugins (.esl or even better "ESPFE"). If a guide really tells you to MERGE files, I'd be very suspicious... And as others already stated: You can't merge a mod that is a master file for other plugins. You'll break the dependencies and run into a "missing master file" problem... Theoretically you can merge a mod together with other mods that depend on it. That would technically be okay. But again: Merging mods is an outdated practice. First, it's difficult to update mods you merged at some point. Second, there's always a risk that something might go wrong when you merge files. I just switched to Personalized Music for now to rid of the requirements
