Game launches without mods - need help

Today I was having severe memory usage problems, so I decided to reinstall my game. I installed it on a new drive, since I wasn't sure if this was the cause of the issues. When I went to play again after it was reinstalled and got skse, I noticed whenever I launched through skse launcher that the game was running with no mods. Also, vortex had this message displayed

EXDEV: cross-device link not permitted, rename 'D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\data\SKSE\Plugins\version-1-5-3-0.bin' -> 'C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\skyrimse\mods\All in one-32444-2-1582543914\SKSE\Plugins\version-1-5-3-0.bin'

Another messaged displayed when I clicked deploy mods was "some mods are redundant". It then said every single one of my 54 mods was checked off as redundant.

I'm not sure what's going on but if anyone can help me resolve these issues it would mean a lot to me, I love Skyrim and wish I could resume my playthrough. Thank you.

Rule #1 if you're not sure if something is the cause of your issue, then don't take drastic steps like that.

What you've done at this point, is uninstalled, and reinstalled the game on a different drive, and now Vortex, has absolutely NO CLUE, where the game is, and where any of the mods you installed are.

You should've come to the forum and asked before you completely destroyed your install.

What is going on now, is, you had a bunch of mods installed with Vortex, something went wrong, and instead of PURGING the mods, uninstalling the game, then using Vortex to find the new installation, and then move the Mod Staging Folder onto the same drive as the game, and Re-Deploying the Mods, it instead sounds like you just uninstalled the game without Purging any of the mods, reinstalled the game on the new drive, and now Vortex is sitting there with a whole bunch of mods that it has no idea where they are, because the folder it had them installed to, is now on a new drive, and doesn't exist anymore where it expects to find it.

Sorry, but you're going to have to wipe clean and start all over again

This is all conjecture based on the details given in your post.

If you DID take the steps I mentioned (Purging etc) then let us know

Thank you so much for your help, but I am unsure what you mean by start over again. If you could list what steps to take to fix the mod directory and fix these issues that would be great. I am still relatively new to modding and unsure of what steps to take to fix this problem. I tried watching tutorials and reading guides but found no help. Thank you for your time

Well, you'll have to go step-by-step as to what you did.

You said you uninstalled and reinstalled your game on a new drive, but you didn't mention of you PURGED or Uninstalled your Mods before you did that.

So, when you uninstalled the game, and reinstalled it on a different drive, did you uninstall your mods FIRST? or did you leave them installed, and just uninstalled the game and moved it?

I just uninstalled the game and reinstalled it on the other drive, the mods I didn't touch them at the time, I thought they would transfer over to the new drive. The last thing I did before I wrote the original post was I moved the game back to the original drive, hoping it would fix the problem. But it left me with even more problems. I did try purging the mods but if I'm not mistaken if gave me an error message.

Yea, there's absolutely no way that a mod manager can keep track of mods that you uninstalled by uninstalling the game and moving the directory for the game.

Now, Vortex thinks the mods are still installed (which they're not), and that they're installed into the old game folder.

You're going to have to delete the C:\users\YOUR NAME\appdata\roaming\Vortex

and completely start over.

Along with moving (USING VORTEX) your Mod Staging folder to the same drive as the game.

I would create a completely new Mod Staging Folder though, because right now, it's full of orphaned Mods
