AlienSensei
Seriously, I would like it more like it was in oblivion. Separate iron armor for example, and add iron chestplate and iron leggins instead. Much more realism. Any mod like this??
Strokend
I don't know about Oblivion; if I remember what I read and if I read things right, Oblivion had less armor choices than Morrowind. Morrowind's list of armor pieces: HelmetAmuletRing (x2)Left pauldronRIght PauldronLeft arm/handLeft Gloves (aesthetic) go here.Right arm/handRight Gloves (aesthetic) go here.Cuirass (Torso)Greaves (Legs)BootsShoes (aesthetic) go here.BeltPantsRobeShirtSkirtShield The oblivion list of armor: BootsShoes (aesthetic) go here.CuirassShirt (aesthetic) goes hereGauntlets (x1)The wrist-irons are counted here.GreavesPants and skirts (aesthetic) go here.HelmetHood (aesthetic) goes hereShieldOutfitREMOVES Cuirass, Greaves, pants, or shirt! (Not counting this one because of this group removal)Ring (x2)Amulet That's 17 slots for Morrowind versus 9 for Oblivion. While we're at it, let's take a look at Skyrim's existing armor set: Body (legs and torso)Aesthetic included; even robes.Boots & ShoesIncludes aesthetics.GauntletsGloves (aesthetic) go here.HelmetHood (aesthetic) goes here.Circlets, due to usual functionality, also go here.ShieldRing (x1)Amulet So, Morrowind 17, Oblivion 9, and Skyrim 7, although Skyrim does come with an official eighth slot. If it was modded to use Morrowind's slots, we could have eighteen armor slots. While that is a lot, the individual weight of differing pieces would be reduced due to covering less of the body (at least, this is the case with the body armor). The eighteenth slot would be the Circlet slot, which should work through modification of the non-full-helmets to not use that slot. I wouldn't care if this meant being unusuable with many of the other existing mods, a lot more armor slots would be an incredible new foundation for new mods anyways. FavoredSoul
Body Slots aren't the problem; there are more than enough available to split the cuirass into two parts. The problem is effort. It's no small task and nobody could be bothered to do it; hence why it doesn't exist. Splitting every armor mesh in the game,Extensive BSDismemberModifierEditing,Loads of Item EditsLoads of New Items / Recipes / Tempering / Crafting AdjustmentsLots of NPC EditingLoot Editing... to name but a few of the many chores... Strokend
There is already a "Greaves Return" mod, but it's not very... Friendly with body mods. What I mean is that, when wearing a top or bottom (Bottom untested), the other side reverts to vanilla body mesh. You would have to get a body mod to be based on this and insert the torso and waist/legs seperately. Of course, if you don't mind that, then the mod works perfectly.
