If we continue on the human/elven provinces - none. We have enough races that fit the lore without major writing gymnastics.

If we get to Elsewyr at some point, I'd love to see the other kinds of Khajiit. Maybe have the more "werewolf style" one as playable too, but not all of them.

The issue with a new playable race is that it would be created for a very narrow roleplaying style. You cannot play a Falmer that simply grew up in a farm and so on. There is a hell lot of backstory already going on with your character, and no one would miss the fact that you're very different from every single other Elf. So it would be an entire playable race that only fits a very specific kind of shoes, unlike all the others. A playable race isn't only about appearance.

That said, it's quite silly that in Skyrim you don't see a single Khajiit allowed into the cities, but the player character waltz in without hearing a single comment about it... "Lore/Gameplay Dissonance®".

Dwemer!

But how will they return to Tamriel? Maybe... that one experiment that Arniel Gane does as a College radiant quest opens a portal to whatever dimension the Dwemer were sent to. That would be cool, I'd love to see Blackreach without Falmer and Centurions trying to kill me every 5 seconds.

Yeah...so I voted none...but the poll and the topic are different.

If its "which new races would you like to see" than ANY would be my answer....

But the topic said "player race" and I don't think I'd want any of those to be playable without first being established as an NPC race.

I voted none because I like the races they have already. Adding a new race will mean Bethesda has to make their next game in that race's province/territory.

I thought Orcs were introduced in Morrowind, and they weren't set in their province.

Yes, but they've had three games with the 10 races we have now, adding another race would upset the balance Bethesda has created.

I voted Imga and Dwemer. I actually just found references to the Imga today and they seem like they could be really interesting.

Then, the Dwemer, of course -- you find a lot of their marks on Tamriel. Their technology could make for some very interesting and unique gameplay, especially compared to the rest of the races.

It's probably not *too* hard to imagine how either of these races would be introduced. the Imga are supposed to basically be followers of the Altmer, right? Then with the Dwemer, maybe a secret underground holdout of them is found in a very remote location -- or at some point they migrated away to a different land, and happen to return.

The Sea Elves could be interesting too. I'm not very familiar with the lore, but I always felt the Argonians were kind of left out by themselves as the only water-based race. They have that neat water breathing ability, but you never really have much use for it. Possibly we'll see an Elder Scrolls on the sea installment.

I voted dwemer baby!

But even if I didn't get to play as one, I'd be happy just to finally find out what actually happened to them which is why I didn't vote for the falmer as we know what happened to them and having snow elves so to speak seems like it would end up being a little repetitious where as the dwemer built things unlike anything and so far advanced that I feel like they would be very different to be.

But it is possible that I could be very wrong. Whether they add a new playable race or not though, I think they already offer a good variety where adding another race would be unnecessary in my opinion.

A new Argonian breed like the Naga, but seems unlikely.

Still unlikely, I would like the bird race described in the Father of the Niben in-game book.

In terms of the player character, I voted none because too many of those races would need a hell of a lot of backstory that Bethesda would not be willing to give. But I'm absolutely dying to see an imga npc. They sound hilarious.
