Glowing trees at night with Climates of Tamriel enabled

No glowing trees. I have the 2k texture pack installed and no ini change which could change the color of trees. I think that your CoT is either not working or some other mod interferes. Did you try to put CoT at last place in the loadorder?

If its a texture problem it might be caused by NMM asking if mod B wants to overwrite a file of mod A, if you agree than the file used is now from B. If you uninstall B now there is neither A or B file present anymore and default will be used (whatever that is).

I found this out some days ago as I was replacing textures. Thats prob the big advantage of MO vs NMM.

Are you using a larger uigridstoload? I'm certain it is happening only on the "snowy" LOD trees in the distance. If you have time, can you get up high and take a screenshot of the tundra forest? Somewhere up on the mountain just south of Dawnstar. Looking down on the white forest.

Can you get a shot with an aurora up there? If anything just to clear my mind. Its really been bugging me. Here is me up at Dimhollow Crypt facing Dawnstar:

Pretty bad eh?

And to compare without CoT:

There are 2 things at play here...

1) AFAIK, COT significantly reduces fogging effect. This effect is used very liberally in the vanilla game to mask poor quality LODs and distant scenery in general. Every single weather type (and COT apparently has dozens of them) has settings for fogging, so some weathers will have more fogging / masking than others. When this fogging effect is lowered or removed it'll show everything up in their "natural" quality, which leads me to...

2) I've not yet seen a Tree LOD mod that works and looks right. I recently did a personal test of tree LOD mods with a customised weather set (with reduced fogging) and the nearest mod I found to being "acceptable" is AOFs tree LOD mod, but even then the trees still stood out too much.

I guess all I am wondering is: is that top screenshot in my previous post normal when running CoT? If so, then we can call it day. To me, it seems like distant LOD trees are not affected by CoTs lighting.

After more testing I can say that MY CoT install was broken (who would have thought that a soundmod breaks weather?) and after fixing everything I encounter exactly the same problem.

If I go near a "glowing" tree it suddenly changes appearances and morphs to a non glowing one. If I use tfc to unanchor the camera I can zoom to the trees (which I did for the the screenshot).

IMO Largestyle is hitting the spot. CoT alters weather and appearances in some radius around the player, but the trees further away are from original skyrim.

Sorry for making confusion.

By the way, that is a nice screenshot!

thank you, nothing is from vanilla game in this pic, it's the first time i get this kind of vue after 250....many start ahaha, probably because it's the 1st time i mix COT + RLO

well it seems you were right about the LOD, when you get closer they looks good, it's like the game try to adapt the colour between the light source, i can't recall what it was without hd textures, try with SFO .179 normal or summer, then COT + night lvl 1 ( slightly brighter than regular) Ugrid doesn't matter, i'm set to 7.

i've checked at 8 pm it became darker, i can't see further than 30ft , only shadows, snowy day light at Windhelm, trees in distance are just dark
