Skyrim SE CTD without error message

Hello everyone,

 

I am having an issue where I run SKSE in the Vortex (Version 1.3.19 on Windows 10 x64) dashboard and it will crash. The screen will go black like it is trying to load the game, but it goes back to the desktop without going to the main menu. There are no notifications letting me know what went wrong.

 

At first I was getting an error 126 for the Engine fix (part 1), so I followed the instructions from https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230?tab=posts. Now I am no longer getting the DLL not found message.

 

I currently have 56 mods active right now with no noticeable conflicts

The crash you describe is almost always either a bad SKSE plugin or you are trying to load a plugin/BSA that isn't intended for that version of Skyrim.

 

I did write an extension which may help.

 

Extensions -> Find More -> Bethesda Archive Checker -> Install

 

Once you have restarted Vortex, click "sort now" in the plugins tab and your load order will be scanned for incorrect BSA files.

Got it. I installed Bethesda Archive Checker, closed out of Vortex and relaunched it. I then did "sort now" on plugins and tried to run the game, but it is still doing the same thing. I guess I will have to go one by one and disable mods until it works. Is there a way to sort mods by install date in Vortex? I see Status, Mod Name, Version, Category and Endorsed. But no install date.

Click the wheel in the upper right of the mod window.

Select Installation time. It is one I use - often.
