I have 100s of mods and just cant seem to get Sims2 to work due to one of them. Is it possible to copy FO4 to another drive strip it of all mods and just add Sim2 etc while not loosing the agility to play the original with 100's of mods? If so anyone know how to do it please?

Nope.

The only way I know of is to use a mod manager that supports PROFILES.

I don't know if MO2 supports profiles, but I do know Vortex does.

Example, you do a fresh install of Fallout 4, you install the 100s of mods you have, that's Profile ONE.

Then you clone Profile ONE to Profile TWO.
In profile TWO, you DISABLE (not uninstall) all of the mods you DON'T want to use in Profile TWO.

However, doing it this way would require you to start from scratch, unless you're already using Vortex.

Many thanks yes I am using vortex so it maybe worth a try... though I may need to find out how I clone the profile

You click on PROFILES in Vortex, and in the box that contains your profile, will be an orange button with the word EDIT and a down arrow, click on the down arrow, and a dropdown menu open up and pick CLONE

Think I have worked it out - if I enable the cloned game then that new profile is working if I enable the default the original default profile and game is working.. have I got that correct?

Yes, you can disable the mods to your hearts content on the cloned profile, with the knowledge that you can return to your first profile at any time with ALL of the mods enabled.

And swap between the two.
