KCD Mods installed + enabled not working (1.3.19)

I'm using vortex 1.3.19 and am trying to mod Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which I bought on Steam. I'm using Windows 10, x64 and I have 32G of RAM.

I have modded the game before by copying folders into the /Mods folder, this worked fine, but I'd prefer to use Vortex.

I have 16 mods installed, but have only enabled 1 now things don't seem to be working. This is a mod that works when I copy it into the game's mod folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance\Mods) , but not when I use Vortex. I moved the mods out of that folder before using Vortex.

What I did in Vortex:

I installed vortex and logged in. Added Kingdom Come: Deliverance to the managed games. Installed 16 nexusmods mods (some through Vortex button, some by install from file). I enabled some, but non of the effects of they should have showed up when I started up the game. Now I've enabled just one, that I know to function well when just copied in the mods folder. It still doesn't work.

Vortex settings:

Deploy mods when enabled is checked.

mod staging folder is {USERDATA}\{game}\mods (the suggested folder) this is the location on the computer: C:\Users\MyName_\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\kingdomcomedeliverance\mods

Deployment method is hardlink

Download folder is {USERDATA}\downloads which is C:\Users\MyName_\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\downloads

This is the mod I'm trying to use: Unlimited Saving at Kingdom Come: Deliverance Nexus - Mods and community

It is supposed to make the save option in the menu available, even when you have no Saviour Schnapps. This option is now greyed out, as it would be without the mod.

I'm hoping I'm overlooking something obvious. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm using the NO schnapps version.

Windows Defender is off, F-secure is on - this used to be a computer for work, I think they installed it. I don't see any function that sounds similar to controlled folder access in that app though. It has a list of monitored applications, Vortex is not on there.

Try making an exclusion for the Kingdom Come Folder in F-secure, and then try installing the mod
