Plarux
Hello everyone, Is it possible to only navmesh the entrance area of an interior cell so that companions may enter?Feel free to link any forum posts, tutorials, or general information about navmesh as well.I'd like to add navmesh to the Cambridge Trailer player home mod that I've created. Thank You,Plarux
YouDoNotKnowMyName
Navmesh defines the area that NPCs can "walk on".So if you only do the Navmesh around the door, then your companions will follow you in there but they will stay at the door (because there is no other navmesh, so as far as they "know", nothing else is a "walkable surface".), Remember to finalize the Navmesh! Otherwise it won't work.
markusm1000
but they will stay at the doorIt may happen, that the companion teleports to you, if he can not walk. He will spawn in an area without navmesh, get stuck, keep teleporting, and so on until you lose your companion or the game crashes. If you want the companion to stay at place, change his package. Yes, that's the "proper way" to do it!
Zorkaz
Also note: To get NPCs in and out you also need to update the navmesh on the exterior.
Plarux
I appreciate everyone's input and advice. Based on everything you've all said, would it be smarter to just navmesh the entire interior cell to prevent any issues? I've managed to find one of Seddon's tutorials about navmesh and one by Kinggath that goes further in-depth.
