terlaN592
So, i have a nord character level 70.I've fullfilled my destiny as a dovakhin, defeated Alduin and saved tamriel from the World Eater. Then i defeated Miraak and saved Solstheim. Then i completed Dawnguard (Human questline). Then i completed all of the side quests.Thane of all cities and etc.THEEEEN i thought i have made a name for myself as a dragonborn , as a hero :smile:And soon i decided to join the Stormcloaks and end this frickin War in Tamriel. "As a Nord as a true son of Skyrim i had to fight the Empire from my homeland"I talked to Ulfric, and he sent me to Galmar and After conversation i realized:First of all , all this time i've been a foreigner to Skyrim , after all i've did, he remembers me only from Ulfric's story about Helgen. (also im a nord, but foreigner)The second , everyone knows me as a dragonborn, even the city guards know me. But Galmar says that "he is not sure about me" , and thats why he is going to test my steel, and sends me to kill an ICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE WRAITTTTTTTTTTTTHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! The deadliest creature in TAMRIEL!!!!!!!And he was very surprised when i returned to him without any scratch... cause he thought i'll die to this ice wraith.. he was sure..http://forums.nexusmods.com/uploads//monthly_03_2013/post-5634773-0-33463900-1362869320_thumb.jpgAnd only after that greatest battle with ice wraith he realised that im a "Stormcloak Material".Ok....Alduin , Miraak , Dragons , Dragon Priests , Thalmor , Giants , Mamooths and other Great opponents.. Now thats ok but.. Ice wraith? Ice wraith vs Dragonborn (UNBLOODED NORD..)Frickin ICE WRAITH!!!!!!!!! :blink:now i know witch creature is the most dangerous in Skyrim ----> ICE WRAITHLol bethesda , even a little child in age of 10 - 15 can create a mod which can add a logical connection between events.Only trouble is voice acting , trouble for modders of course not for Bethesda.P.s Sorry for my English , and i love this buggy muggy game with some little problems  Hail Bethesda!!!!! Jaradin
*Grins* Well, you did make one little error in your whole plan here. ... You joined the STORMCLOAKS, MAAAAAANNNNNNNNN!!!!!
Kayyyleb
Stormcloaks have pretty low standards. Rikke sent me to singlehandedly take down an entire fort then was like "meh, I guess you'll do" when I came back soaked in blood.
terlaN592
*Grins*... You joined the STORMCLOAKS, MAAAAAANNNNNNNNN!!!!! May be you're right , but , lets just think if I'm a dragonborn then my char. must be a Nord, if i'm a Nord then I'm from Skyrim and also i worship Talos and do everything like a true nord in old ways , as a free man . In my opinion Nords were betrayed by Legion and traded for Great War peace with Thalmor. And after all of this i dont want to become a part of the legion and fight my own People , Talos Worshippers and True Nords. I like realistic and true logical line of events , even in a Game

There's no rule that says Nords only joined the Stormcloaks. Anyways, there's already a thread for that discussion. It is kinda funny how the Stormcloak recruitment mission doesn't level with the player at all. On the Legion side at least the bandits level with your character but an ice wraith is the same at level 1 as it is at level 80.
RighthandofSithis
Its a roleplaying thing. The Nords traditionally hunt and Ice Wraith as a coming of age ritual. it wasn;t meant to be challenging for high level players, only roleplaying. Admittedly, the Game mechanics when it came to being a known hero (be it companion or Dragonborn) could have used some more work (but bethesda had to rush itself, didn't they). kradus
There should be the option to join the war as a freelancer after we are recognised as an allmighty hero, so as to not be regarded as a freeking novice. One way to level up that quest would be to add more ice wraiths, or even one of them ice-ladies, with ice wraiths aproaching from all sides. All that way to that island, only for a freaking ice wraith... Edited March 11, 2013 by kradus
LithiumPower
Galmar should've made it more challenging: Kill me an ice-wraith with your teeth! or you should've rp'ed in something like that! I kept bugging Miraak out because apparently I killed him too fast so then I tried it unarmed in undies and it worked. Also made for a hilarious battle. "Hermaeus Mora is laughing at us." Yeah, Miraak. I just bet he is. You could take the Jagged Crown to Ulfric after getting it for Rikke thereby by-passing the ice-wraith challenge and sticking it to the Empire - twice! sisterof
Bethesda isn't very good at making the "R" of "RPG". You can join (and usually become leader) of the most diverse things in a total roleplaying sacrilege, you are even pressed to do so (you can't learn a lot of Shouts without playing specific questlines, which annoys me to no end), and the game utterly ignores your prestige in other factions.I agree with RighthandofSithis, it's simply what every cute little Nord does when coming of age. Though if I decide to go Stormcloak with my Dragonborn, I'll play it really quick and pretend it never happened...Also, another thing to keep in mind: Galmar and Ulfric both comment that they wanted to see if your heart was really into it. Perhaps it wasn't just about killing an Ice Wraith as much as it was taking the hike all the way to that iceberg in the middle of nowhere, long trek north and swimming in freezing water included, maybe even feeling offended by having to do so (since you could be very powerful already). That way you showed that you were really committed to the cause, and ready to obey a superior officer's command regardless of your status in the rest of the world. You are Dragonborn but they're still not sure you are a Stormcloak. That said, I still think it should be leveled.
