aviform
I have about 400 saves (though only a few in the saves folder) to my name, but I save very frequently. Anyway, somewhere around save 300, my saves were 17 mb. That hasn't increased much since, so I think I must have had something bloat it somewhere along the lines. Is there anything I can do to to reduce this size significantly (by more than 5 mb?) without losing any progress, items, stats, money, or anything at all? Rabbit1251
One thing that you can do is install and run Possessive Corpses (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4528). That can keep it down a bit. Rabbit
aviform
I actually already have that installed, heh. One thing I've heard is that leftover strings from uninstalled mods can sometimes bloat it. Is there a safe way to remove them with affecting my save (aside from bringing the size down) ?

aviform
Another bump. I'm really having problems with this. Some tips would be helpful.
Jaradin
To be honest, there are mods which claim that they can help cut down on save bloating, but they're also dangerous for making your save file unstable. If you're up to 400 saves and still at only 20 MBs I feel like you're doing fine. But if you really want to slim down your save, there are things you can do in-game: Sell/remove any weapons/armor/misc. stuff you no longer want or need. Pick up and sell/remove any items hanging around in the game that have been moved from their original position, such as pots or bowls. Place as many items in the game world that you do want to keep inside of chests. That'll save space from the game having to remember the coordinates of its location. That should help some. However, I honestly wouldn't worry - 20 MBs really isn't that bad. Now if you start to get to 25 or more in a hurry, then you might have a problem, and the only way to solve that is to reload a save where the cause is missing. But that's a problem for another day. aviform
I do actually have a treasure room with a lot of things lying around in it, so I'll try to cut down on that. If I empty my (very very) full alchemy container, would that help as well?
Jaradin
I'd bet. But I doubt if you have 300 of the same ingredient that'd much matter. What'd probably make more of a difference would be eliminating individual units. For example, if you have one of every armor and weapon in the game, cutting it down to your absolute necessities would help.
aviform
Would eliminating the single units of alchemy ingredients also help? They're the only thing I really hoard in a container.
