DreadWolfxoxo
I'm completely new to modding, I bought Inquisition on PC solely to mod it. I've watch tutorial after tutorial on how to mod and it seemed simple enough. So, I downloaded what I needed, added the mods I wanted and I got this message "You MUST have a version of the Official patch to be able to use mods". Now, my game is up to date, the mod managers are up to date. I've tried googling what this meant and cannot find a thing. I've tried frosty mod, daimod. I'm not the smartest when it comes to computers, especially files and stuff. I just can't figure this out, when I ask for help at Dragon Age groups I get told to watch a tutorial as if I haven't. I JUST WANT TO PLAY WITH MODS!  So, any help is welcomed.
HadToRegister
It would help if you said which mods you're using are saying that you must have the official patch
Dmitrias
What steps exactly did you take? Dai mod manager tricks the game into thinking the mods it applies are a new patch. You mentioned mod managers plural, and said you've tried both frosty mods and daimods, so I will assume you have tried using both frosty mod manager and dai mod manager. You do not need both mod managers. You can suffice with just one or the other, though of course frosty mods cannot be loaded through dai mod manager, but, daimods can be loaded through frosty mod manager if unzipped from their archives (.7z, .7zip, .rar, etc, these are archive files), with the exception of texture daimods can go kind of funky loaded through FMM, really old daimods that are made up of folders instead of the .daimod extension, and some people have issues loading configurable daimods through frosty which are ones that allow you adjust the mods setting yourself with a configure button in DAIMM. If you loaded both the mod managers together as is, they will not function properly, because the fake patch that dai mod manager makes will override the mods from your frosty mods. Most tutorials on using both the mod managers together (which is possible, some people do, so they can load the types of daimods that I mentioned don't normally load as well through FMM), they will tell you to rename the dai mod manager merged mods folder, Patch_ModManagerMerge, to Patch. If you did so, and then went back and tried to remerge your mods through dai mod manager, this is probably why the dai mod manager is saying you do not have the official patch, because it recognizes that this is actually the merged mods folder that has been renamed. If you want to change what mods you are loading through dai mod manager after renaming the merged mods folder to Patch, you will have to restart the process all over again, delete the frosty merged mods folder (ModData), paste back your original Patch folder if you kept a backup or repair your game through origin if you didn't. Then, it should not give you this error, as far as I'm aware. If you didn't do that, Idk. Common folder locations of merged mods folders btw for reference:Daimm one: C: > Program Files > Origin Games > Dragon Age Inquisition > Update > Patch_ModManagerMergeFrosty one: C: > Program Files > Origin Games > Dragon Age Inquisition > ModData Edited December 12, 2020 by Dmitrias
