Hi there, anyone knows any highlighting loot mod?

I mean any mod that highlights loot and stuff for gathering like flowers.

It's hard to find loot sometimes because game is quite dark in some area and sometimes loot get invisible.

Something like "shiny effect" that other games have.

Thanks.

I use Unread Books Glow, and another that make ores that can be mined with a pickaxe glow. I don't know of any others.

Make sure that they are for the version of Sktim you are running.

:D

PS

If you search the mods page for "Glow", you will find many pages. Most are auras, eyes and so on, but also many for weapons.

I just found a mod that makes arrows glow, so that should help my Rangers and Hunters find them if they miss! I hope it's for Skyrim LE, and not SSE.

Unread Books Glow and a new Glowing Ore Veins is there. Personally, I would not want everything I can pick up to glow, it would be make the wilderness look like Times Square on New Year's Eve!

hahaha true that, well i definitely don't want spoons and wood plates glowing, but maybe only stuff i can use for crafting and gathering. The hardest i find to look well are herbs and flowers. And I'm gonna take a look around using that keyword. Thanks!

Well, good luck on your quest for more glowing loot! Your question made me look for myself, and there are about 8 pages of Mods with "glow" in the mod title, including "glow"-ing, and I found about 7 or 8 new mods I might try.

The arrows is a definite, as I love playing Ranger types and being able to find the arrows on the ground will be a great help. My latest charcater is a Hunter-Ranger, using Arthmoor's Life Another Life. I would recommend all of Arthmoor's mods, as well as SkyUI.

There is also one that adds Lamposts to the bridges and most roads that I have used for ages. IIRC it was made by the same guy who made SkyTEST realistic Animals and Predators. It's quite beautiful at night seeing the maps as i approach a new town or village.

I usually go for realism, survivalist and camping mods. I leave little campsites and mini-strongholds all over the place with Pocket Empire Builder. It was a huge mistake not allowing Vanilla characters to buy a camping roll, tent, flint and tinder box. But I can craft them with realistic Needs and Diseases! I don't go so much for graphics overhauls, especially those that make Skyrim look like a tropical garden paradise. But a few that add apple trees and denser flora is OK.

There's also a mod for mushrooms, and one for Belladonna, that make them glow.

Anyway, All the Best!

I am going to try those new mods!

PS, I find that running at the edge of roads makes me pass over a lot of flower bushes that can be harvested. The mouse Icon changes and I can harvest them on the run with a left side-button mouse click.

I'll take a look in the CK. I can't promise anything, but if I can find a way to make every harvestable flora glow, I might give it a go. In theory, it should just involve adding a glow effect like a bluish-cyan glow around the bush when it has flowers and berries we can pick up, and the glow is removed when picked, and comes back when it respawns. I still play SLE, so I won't be making mods for SSE. I have a free upgrade, but I don't like anything I have heard about Mods for SSE and the "Creation Club".

You know that if you have picked out an entire area, there will be nothing to pick for about a week after leaving the area and coming back? As I recall, nothing respawns for a week after leaving the area. You can tell when you leave a map zone as there's a slight pause, maybe an screen message. I don't play so much these days and have not made a mod for years, but I take a look if somethign interests me.

Thanks again. I did know about they respawn after some time. It's game i use to abandon form time to time until I feel like playing again, so i was starting new game and i was looking for that mod exactly. That one to highlight or make hasrvestable stuff more visible. I'm gonna take a look in mods section in my day off. Thanks for all your help xD

Yeah, I don't play as much as I used to in 2012-2014, but I have been playing recently. I just got the arrow mod, as finding stuff I just killed can be a problem!

Another useful mod would be "Dead Animals Glow", so I can find them when they fall over in the woods! My arrows have quite a range on them! I might look into making that.

I don't remember clearly, but I think the respawn time is 30 days, not a week. I'll check while I play.

  • 2 weeks later...

I use AutoHarvest so I loot Flowers, Bugs, Butterflies automatically.

What a brilliant idea!

I use 83Willows_101BUGS_V4_HighRes.esp, which makes a zillion new butterflies, and I was running round the wilderness wishing I had a butterfly net, when a sabre cat almost killed me!

LOL!

Like the time I was mining ore and saw a giant approaching, and couldn't stop digging! Caught it on video as he appraoched and knocked me 100 feet into the stratosphere!
