[LE] Why Does the CK Keep Crashing?

I made some mods for Skyrim LE a few years ago, many of which are not uploaded.

 

But I was working on completing one of them recently and I keep getting a loading error that multiple master files are loading and will be aborted, or it just crashes.

 

What is this all about? If a mod depends on Skyrim, Dragonborn and Dawnguard, there was never a problem with loading it before.

Have you made the necessary changes to SkyrimEditor.ini?

 

bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1
bAllowMultipleMasterFiles=1

 

and if you want the bsa's to bel oaded

 

SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa, Hearthfires.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa

It has:

So I can add , Dawnguard.bsa, Hearthfires.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa
So I just add these to [Archive] as well?
bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1
bAllowMultipleMasterFiles=1
There are "bAllow..." entries under several headings, but no
bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=0
bAllowMultipleMasterFiles=0
so I will have to add them in their entirity.
I knew updating the CK was a bad idea!

I should also say that I am not so much using SLE as Odlrim with all the DLC, which I think is ostensibly the same as SLE.

 

This issue seems to only affect one mod. My others will load fine with 2 or more Masters.

 

This is an unpublished Alchemy mod and has:

 

Skyrim

Update

Dawnguard

Hearthfires

Dragonborn

Unofficial Skyrim Patch

 

as Masters. I also made a patch for RND.

 

Maybe I should have not used the Unofficial Patch as a Master? In my mods, I tend not to change or replace Vanilla items, I create copies and edit those. So each mod has it's own stuff and should not conflict with any otherrs. So in crafting etc, there are sometimes the same items with different recipes, but (EG) my Silver and Mithril weapons have unique meshes, textrues, recipes, names etc and names like Mithril Sword (Ancient)

 

I made this in 2012-2013, so maybe a later version of USKP stops things loading?

 

Also, is there any truth that editing a mod with TES5Edit makes the CK not recognised it? I recall reading something about that somewhere, but forget the details.

 

 

If your suggestion does not work, I'll have to try cleaning my mod and removing the dependency on USKP somehow. It seemed like a good idea at the time as USKP had corrected a lot of things and I wanted to have those copies in my mods.

 

But it's been so long, I am astonished at how complex the mod is and how clever I was! I have forgotten 90% of it!

I tried that and CK FINAL-99796-3-0-1582663968.rar gives an error message that it is not a proper rar file, or is corrupted.

 

I checked through a few things and my Mod is for Oldrim + DLC, and I have USKP plus separate Unofficial Patches for the DLC.

 

I also recall discussing on Arthmoor's site that I felt that they were running out of genuine Vanilla bugs and were introducing what (IMO) were Design Decision Changes, EG altering various Booze like Cyrodilian Brandy to either act like potions, or not like potions, I forget now. As this was messing with my Mod, which was a WIP, I decided to stick with UKSP, separate UP for DLC and not use USLEEP at all.

 

But that was maybe 6 or 7 years ago and I stopped playing Skyrim in 2014 and started playing an MMO. I've always still played Skyrim now and then, but this week I got back into it Big Time.

 

The current version of my Mod is dated 2015, but I found backups and alpha and ß versions from 2013 on my external hard drive. I knew there was something unfinished as I found one of my Alchemy Books at Winterhold Colege with no text in it! The idea is find the books and learn the recipes in there; IE, the effects of the ingrdients used in the potions become known to you. There are three books that work and another two that were planned but not finished. I think that my using Oldrim, plus all the nonsense about the SSE Creation Club, Paid Mods, and that mine were for Oldrim + DLC and not SLE is why I hid them on the Nexus.

 

 

So I think what I need to do now is to convert my game to SLE and use USLEEP and then find out how to update my mods for SLE and USLEEP.

 

I'd better start another thread!

Well, what a plonker I am! The CK FINAL-99796-3-0-1582663968.rar is a 64bit file and needed me to update Winrar to 64bit, and it works like a charm!

Yes, thanks for that!

 

I used to be quite skilled with Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini,but I never learned much about the CK ini files.

 

But I think Creation Kit Stability Performance Fixes has everything already worked out for me!
