Yes this was one of the more enjoyable quests for me too and I also really liked Katria. Perhaps there will be a mod to "resurect" her as a follower? This quest stood apart from others somehow, not really sure what the appeal is; the Dwemer ruins seemed a bit more polished than vanilla ones also.

I picked the crown as well, no question as I do not really like Dwemer armor.

I think as long as you wear one of the items you will eventually run into the Dark elf creep and his gang. Speaking of spoilers, who all found the chest across the lake of lava?

I used a levitation spell from a fantastic simple mod, but I am not sure how one is supposed to find that otherwise.

I did but I had to cheat to get there :( I didn't take any of the stuff so that eased my conscience!

 

Someone needs to mod the forge to be an alternative to enchanting, where you can add aetherium power to other armours. I'd like an aetherium/stalhrim armour ^^

That is the combination I am going for once I get the crown with my current char. Would be interesting to hear how other people reached the "secret area" beyond the lava. I had to cheat the first time as well because without levitation I could not see a legit way to do it; perhaps with an insane jump ability through a potion or scroll?

Become ethereal shout allows you to swim in the lava.

A few pieces of gear enchanted with Resist Fire along with a good Resist Fire potion help in getting to the chests on either side of the Forge, but the chest in back is just a Wuld-Nah-Kest away if you aim right.

After the third death in lava, I gave up. Wiki had me confused about where these chests were located anyway. I'll do my cheating by looking in the CK render window to see where they are so that I can figure out a proper way of getting there. :P

 

But it will have to be a new game, I deleted the last playthrough.

Of course, had not thought of the obvious using certain shouts to get over the lava lake, probably because with the Char I played at the time I completely avoided the main quest to see what would happen. Did not have a single shout by level 20 and made for a very different game experience, you should try it. :cool:

I rarely use shouts even when I do have them. Pretty much just dragonred and marked for death (most OP shout ever).
