dukesilver28
To keep things interesting, I tried changing the default voice type for my character so that she would sound different in battle--I was tired of female human characters sounding like Lydia. To do this for my female nord character, I edited the default voice for NordRace females from Femaleeventoned to Femalecondescending. This works okay from what I've seen except that now my character shouts silently--the shout still works, but she doesn't audibly shout at all. Apparently the sound files for shouts are selected based on your player's default voice type and not your race and gender specifically, so changing your race's default sound voice screws things up (?). Is there any way to fix this? Also, are there any other issues that may come up from editing the default voice for a race? And just to be clear, I know that there aren't going to be shouting sound files specific to the Femalecondescending voicetype or any other variations--I'm fine with the shouts still having the default human female voice. EnaiSiaion
This is actually handled by a quest. Look for that quest, look at the dialogue conditions and hope there is something you can do with them (see the custom shouts in Thunderbolt). dukesilver28
Okay, thank you. I'll take a look and see what I can do.
Xandelreo
I'm trying to accomplish the same thing, but with no luck. I downloaded a mod that changes a male nord's voice to the Nord Voice, which works, but when I go into TESVEdit and change that Nord voice to Malebrute (which is the voice set I want), it works in every way except my shouts are silent. I can see the author of that Nord Voice mod (who seems to not be around anymore) added the voice to the formlists for shouts and it works with the mod. Even though I change all the instances I see to the desired Malebrute voice, it gives me silent shouts and there seems to be no logical reason why. All questions I've been able to dig up anywhere on changing the player's voice seem to dead-end on various forums with people not knowing, sadly. Xandelreo
Actually, I figured it out. Duskesilver, under Skyrim>Data>Sound>Voice you should see folders with the names of different voice sets. I had a bunch already in place, probably due to other mods, you may not have any, depending. After you're done changing your female nord voice to whichever voice you'd like under race, and add it to the various voice form lists, you need to place a folder under the above path named with the appropriate set containing all of the sound files (for instance, I named my folder malebrute), likely pulled from the Skyrim bsa (?). I'm not really a modder, I can tweak a little, so I apologize if the above seems a bit disjointed. If it helps, I used the following mod as a reference in what to edit. Maybe it'll help you too. Good luck, hope it works! http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16572
brazilianbolchevik
I am having trouble with this, being trying to update an existing mod so shouts would work, I've copied sound files from another voicetype over at the listing using the *.esm path, it didn't work, after that I've tried bashing everything into 1 folder and renaming it with the mod's custom race *.esp path. Also didn't work, I am wondering how can I get this to work...
