Problem with setting up Vortex for games

Did you in any way, mess around with the Mod Staging folder outside of vortex?

Likely. Because that staging folder was just setup, I would delete it and then restage a new folder in different locations while trying to troubleshoot the issue. As of the screenshots above, I create a new staging folder and didn't mess with it in between the errors above.

That's your problem.

you can only make the mod staging folder in Vortex, if you mess around with it outside of vortex, or create the mod staging outside of vortex, and then expect to point Vortex to it, it won't work.

In vortex you need to go to SETTINGS------>MODS-----> and either click on SUGGEST, or type in the path and name of your folder, along with {game}

Something like this

G:\Mods\{game}

ANd Vortex will create a G:\Mods\cyberpunk2077 folder

Okay, I let Vortex create the staging folder using the Suggest button. I downloaded a new mod and installed it. Confirmed it appears in the staging folder, but the changes don't appear in game.

Did you 1. INSTALL, 2. ENABLE, and 3. DEPLOY the mod?

CLick on the PLUGINS tab, is the plugin ENABLED?

I installed and then clicked enable.

I was not familiar with the deploy option so this is new to me. I see the deploy mods button so I clicked it, I don't see any changes to the main directory. I'm also not seeing a plugins button like I have under skyrim.

For your visual reference.

Also to add, I have gotten these mods to work if I manually install them, I just know how easy it is to use Nexus (now Vortex) when you have many mods.

And in case you were curious, I did remove all of the manually installed mods before trying to attempt to install the same mod using Vortex. I'm just not seeing the changes appear in the directory or in game.

Just a bit to add:

Vortex does NOT support Cyberpunk out of the box. You must download the extension:

https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/196

Also, very important: Read that extension documentation. Only listed mods work, and some must be repackaged.

I do have the extension at least, Vortex warned me that I'd need it in order to use Cyberpunk so I think I'm covered. I will look more into the mods that do/don't work. I guess when downloading the few mods I did, when they were listed on Nexus showing download through Vortex it would work but I guess I shouldn't assume.
