Sonsoflorgar
Hi!When I try to import the mods I had in the NMM for fallout 4, I get the error message that I have to disable the mods in NMM, which would be understandable, only NMM isn't installed on the computer anymore, it's just the mod directory and the registry files that I opted out of removing when uninstalling NMM prior to installing Vortex, and the only NMM installer I had on my computer is the Nexus Mod Manager-0.49.7 version, which is too old to ID Fallout 4 so I can't disable that mod list!Is there a registry log file in the old NMM catalogue that I can delete to get Vortex to work around it?Vortex is a bit tricky to learn, but it's clearly a far better tool.Thank you in advance! rmm200
Short answer: Don't do that. NMM actually modifies your game directory. If you remove it, those changes remain.Easiest course of action for you is to delete the game directory and reinstall it.If you still have the mod archive files, just drag them to Vortex. Otherwise download them again.Do not use the Import from NMM choice in your case.
Sonsoflorgar
So, remove any mod files from the fallout4 game folder and re-verify the local files through steam?or a full game folder deletion and reinstallation?

Full game folder deletion to be on the safe side, like rmm200 said.
Solution rmm200 Posted January 16, 2021 Solution Share Posted January 16, 2021 If it were my system, I would delete the data/scripts, meshes, and textures directories, along with anything in data not installed by Bethesda. Then Steam Validate. It is not my system - so the only set I can recommend is delete the game and reinstall. The Nuke from Orbit option. Better safe than sorry.
