Mariage broblem: Playing as a women and a women tries to marry me?

Veronica was pretty darn open about it the way I remember her. Arcade you just kind of had to figure it out, but Veronica might as well have had her own talk show.

The politics of "no gay couples unless the player wants it" seemed pretty obvious. Skyrim's design philosophy is "this world is what you want it to be". The only way to accomodate players who want a straight Skyrim and those who don't is for the player to be the one who controls it.

But just because I can explain it with genre-savvy doesn't make the genre-blind implications any less humorous: the Dragonborn can prance around a straight Skyrim turning people gay. That's hilarious.

(I didn't know that later DLC's added a gay couple. It's still funny, darn it!)

Sexuality in games only serves two purposes: cheap porn/eyecandy (e.g. God of War), or character development (e.g. Dragon Age). Skyrim doesn't offer either of those things, so it's not a terrain they're willing to tread.

I'm sorry, but I laughed out loud at that comment there. I thought that the sex scenes in Dragon Age were definitely cheap porn. In fact, I'd be hard pressed to find any sex scene in a film where one could describe a sex scene as a character developer. It's only purpose is to emphasize the physical and emotional bond between two characters, or suggest subconscious things, such as a character's tenderness or ferocity. But that's it, and that's only if you're really getting deep with it. Sex scenes almost exclusively have one value, and that's fan service.

As for this thread, I smell a gay versus anti-gay fight coming, so I'm jumping ship before it blows up.

The sex scene in Jade between the eponymous antihero and her husband was important to the plot; in fact it was pretty central to the whole affair. ("Affair", har har.)

Most of the time I agree they're unnecessary.

Actually there might be a couple of sex scenes in one of the many "Spartacus: Yada Yada" offerings important to the plot, but that's just the Law of Large Numbers catching up to the Law of Averages. Throw that many darts and one of 'em has to hit a bullseye.

@Laamanaator:

You referred to this as a "broblem". I thought it was a typo at first, but it might be a sign of comedic brilliance. Was that on purpose?
