Does that include the update to The Inheritance as well or is that coming after Russell? Been waiting patiently for the improved, updated Bounties I and II and I still have yet to play The Inheritance. For my next playthrough of New Vegas I would like to have it all :biggrin:

On a side note, it's a shame you didn't mod for Fallout 3, you probably could've done something great with the Regulators or even Reilly's Rangers.

My plan is to upload the patch for The Inheritance at roughly the same time as my update/expansion for NVB I & II, as there will be new content that depends on each plugin. Russell will also feed into The Inheritance and NVBII. Thanks for the support

 

On a side note, it's a shame you didn't mod for Fallout 3, you probably could've done something great with the Regulators or even Reilly's Rangers.

I've considered making a prequel for NVB (involving Marshal Cooper), but I'd prefer to use my breaks from NV to work on Skyrim, as I'll need to improve my skills with Papyrus in preparation for FO4. Speaking of FO4, I still have a design doc for Martin's Marines that could easily be adapted to a new Fallout setting... :)

Would you by any chance be willing to share one of your design docs, perhaps for the Inheritance or some such? I'm curious how you organized everything, what changed and such, or wasn't included, and whatnot.

Minor Update:

- After wrangling with the NVB update for a bit, I finally made time to work on Russell's dialogue a bit more, and I'm really growing to like the character. There is no shortage of commentary, that you can count on. He will also divulge his origins and background in incremental phases that depend on the player's choices/actions, rather than my usual speech-check = EVERYTHING technique. Sorry, I'm learning RPG mechanics as I go. :)

 

I also plan on updating Russell when I add more quest plugins. Since I'm performing the VO, it will be a cinch to produce detailed barks and dialogue trees that correspond to new content. Right now I just need to implement the foundation and wrap up the main quest. One of the endings is more or less finished, but I still need to finalize the other route and at least attempt an ending slideshow (gotta learn how to do it at some point).

This might sound like an odd question: Will choices made before meeting Russell take effect retroactively then, or will players potentially miss out on things if Russell it met later in the game or if not `recruited` as soon as possible after starting a new game? If it takes so many `positive` actions in his presence and the player has already used all the opportunities to gain those points are they simply out of luck and doomed to never get that dialog in their current play through?

Good question - there should be ample opportunities during Russell's main quest, "Hunter, Hunted", and through generic exploration (not tied to other content). For example, just take him to the Ranger Monument, Camp Forlorn Hope, or Hoover Dam. You'll get an interesting conversation (not unlike triggers for vanilla companions). I'll include a list of triggers in the readme.
