ObliviousParticle
So I've got a microstutter, I've tried lowering graphics disabling mods, etc. While it lowers the amount of micro stutter, it's still there even if weaker. I've tried like every fix I could find. I've tried disabling Vsync and mouse acceleration, I've tried enabling Vsync. I've tried capping the FPS. I've tried messing with desktop mouse acceleration under control panel, etc. The stutter seems to only happen when looking up and down, especially when doing so slowly. My system specs: -AMD Quad-Core A6-3620 2.2GHz with TurboCORE up to 2.5GHz(OCed to 2.4ghz with Turbo of 2.9ghz]-4GB RAM-AMD Radeon HD 6530D Graphics Settings: Resolution: 1280x720 Everthing on high except I've disabled shadows completely. I've got FXAA through the injector and 4x AF. Now I've ran these settings for a long while and never had this stutter. This is with the latest update mind you, because I've heard mention of the problem not existing before an update, but then after an update people had problems. But yet the problem did not start until VERY recently, like 2-3 days ago. I've been trying to fix it since. What's worse is trying to mess with stuff, actually made it worse, even when reversing everything back to normal after trying to fix it. Though I've kind of tried to settle with running it in a windowless border, etc, it's still ruining the game for me.
Georgiegril
Are you using something to set your graphics driver? (Like, I have NVidia Inspector, not sure what you radeon kids use.) Could you post a screenshot of that and maybe also your prefs.ini?
ObliviousParticle
Are you using something to set your graphics driver? (Like, I have NVidia Inspector, not sure what you radeon kids use.) Could you post a screenshot of that and maybe also your prefs.ini? What do you mean by setting my driver? Do you mean am I using something to configure my card's settings? Or what? And do you mean a screenshot of whatever you are talking about, or of my problem? Because I can't really take a picture of a stutter. Anyways this is what my pref.ini looks like, though I've actually just regenerated it and changed only a few things which didn't help: [General]fBrightLightColorB=1.0000fBrightLightColorG=1.0000fBrightLightColorR=1.0000iStoryManagerLoggingEvent=-1bEnableStoryManagerLogging=0[imagespace]bDoDepthOfField=0iRadialBlurLevel=0[Display]iBlurDeferredShadowMask=0fInteriorShadowDistance=2000.0000fShadowDistance=0.0000iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=1024iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=2048iShadowSplitCount=2iMaxAnisotropy=1fLeafAnimDampenDistEnd=4600.0000fLeafAnimDampenDistStart=3600.0000fTreesMidLODSwitchDist=3600.0000fGamma=1.0000fDecalLOD2=1500.0000fDecalLOD1=1000.0000fSpecularLODStartFade=650.0000fShadowLODStartFade=200.0000fLightLODStartFade=1190.0000iTexMipMapMinimum=0iTexMipMapSkip=0iWaterMultiSamples=0iMultiSample=1iShadowMode=3bTreesReceiveShadows=0bDrawLandShadows=0bFull Screen=1iSize H=720iSize W=1280fMeshLODFadePercentDefault=1.2000fMeshLODFadeBoundDefault=256.0000fMeshLODLevel2FadeTreeDistance=2048.0000fMeshLODLevel1FadeTreeDistance=2844.0000fMeshLODLevel2FadeDist=10000000.0000fMeshLODLevel1FadeDist=10000000.0000iScreenShotIndex=2bShadowMaskZPrepass=0bMainZPrepass=0iMaxSkinDecalsPerFrame=10iMaxDecalsPerFrame=30bFloatPointRenderTarget=0sD3DDevice="AMD Radeon HD 6530D"bFXAAEnabled=0iShadowMapResolution=512fShadowBiasScale=0.5000iShadowMaskQuarter=4iAdapter=0iPresentInterval=0iShadowFilter=3bShadowsOnGrass=1bTransparencyMultisampling=0bDeferredShadows=1bDrawShadows=1[Grass]b30GrassVS=1fGrassStartFadeDistance=5000.0000fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=7000.0000fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=0.0000[MAIN]bGamepadEnable=0bCrosshairEnabled=1fHUDOpacity=1.0000bSaveOnPause=1bSaveOnTravel=1bSaveOnWait=1bSaveOnRest=1fSkyCellRefFadeDistance=150000.0000[GamePlay]bShowFloatingQuestMarkers=1bShowQuestMarkers=1iDifficulty=2[interface]bDialogueSubtitles=1bGeneralSubtitles=0fMouseCursorSpeed=1.0000bShowCompass=1[Controls]fGamepadHeadingSensitivity=1.0000fMouseHeadingSensitivity=0.0260bAlwaysRunByDefault=1bInvertYValues=0bGamePadRumble=0bMouseAcceleration=0bUseKinect=0[Particles]iMaxDesired=750[saveGame]fAutosaveEveryXMins=15.0000[AudioMenu]fAudioMasterVolume=1.0000fVal7=1.0000uID7=0fVal6=1.0000uID6=0fVal5=1.0000uID5=0fVal4=1.0000uID4=0fVal3=1.0000uID3=94881fVal2=0.4000uID2=466532fVal1=1.0000uID1=554685fVal0=1.0000uID0=1007612[Clouds]fCloudLevel2Distance=262144.0000fCloudLevel1Distance=32768.0000fCloudLevel0Distance=16384.0000fCloudNearFadeDistance=9000.0000[TerrainManager]fTreeLoadDistance=12500.0000fBlockMaximumDistance=75000.0000fBlockLevel1Distance=25000.0000fBlockLevel0Distance=15000.0000fSplitDistanceMult=0.4000bShowLODInEditor=0[NavMesh]fObstacleAlpha=0.5000fCoverSideHighAlpha=0.8000fCoverSideLowAlpha=0.6500fEdgeFullAlpha=1.0000fEdgeHighAlpha=0.7500fEdgeLowAlpha=0.5000fTriangleFullAlpha=0.7000fTriangleHighAlpha=0.3500fTriangleLowAlpha=0.2000fLedgeBoxHalfHeight=25.0000fEdgeDistFromVert=10.0000fEdgeThickness=10.0000fPointSize=2.5000[Trees]bRenderSkinnedTrees=1uiMaxSkinnedTreesToRender=20[Decals]uMaxDecals=250bDecals=1bSkinnedDecals=1uMaxSkinDecals=50uMaxSkinDecalsPerActor=40[LOD]fLODFadeOutMultObjects=8.0000fLODFadeOutMultItems=5.2000fLODFadeOutMultActors=11.7500fLODFadeOutMultSkyCell=1.0000[Launcher]bEnableFileSelection=1bShowAllResolutions=1uLastAspectRatio=3[blurShaderHDR]bDoHighDynamicRange=1[blurShader]bUseBlurShader=0[Water]iWaterReflectHeight=512iWaterReflectWidth=512bUseWaterDisplacements=1bUseWaterRefractions=1bUseWaterReflections=1bUseWaterDepth=1 Edited April 5, 2013 by ObliviousParticle
ObliviousParticle
Oh BTW, I was using the Beta 3.3 driver, but today I tried going to the 3.1 release just to see if that would do anything... and it didn't help.

Georgiegril
I meant a screen shot of whatever you are using to configure your driver. It looks like there is something called AMD Radeon PRo that works like Nvidia inspector does for my card. But there should be some basic control of gaming profiles on your driver's interface. If you open up your driver software interface, is there anything about application contol or gaming profiles? What I am looking for is the settings in your driver related to the game. (There should be a place where you can set specific choices for FXAA, Antialiasing, etc at the driver level.) What I am looking for is a setting that is not optimal or is conflicting with what you have done in the game settings. I'm confused about your driver version--again, someone with Radeon might be better at helping you with this. When I plug in your graphics card info AMD tells me your latest drivers are version 13.1. Maybe that's what you meant? In the meantime, I would try changing these .ini settings, as they can cause stuttering or lag with some people. (make a backup of your current .ini, so you can easily revert to it if you need to.) [blurShaderHDR]bDoHighDynamicRange=0 (this will remove bloom, which causes stuttering with some people.) PS--It will make your post more reader friendly if you enclose your .ini settings in spoiler tags so people don't wear out their fingers scrolling. Also you say you have shadows off compltely, but you still have a number of shadow options set at 1 (which is enable) vs. 0 (disable). I would try changing all of these to zero, if you actually want no shadows.bShadowsOnGrass=0bTransparencyMultisampling=0bDeferredShadows=0bDrawShadows=0 Finally, I would try disabling auto save and making sure I was playing with steam in offline mode. (that you need to do at the steam interface.) bSaveOnPause=0bSaveOnTravel=0bSaveOnWait=0bSaveOnRest=0[saveGame]fAutosaveEveryXMins=0 These may or may not address your stutter problem. I am inclined to think the problem is at the driver level, especially if you were changing driver versions lately. If you can either download and use Radeon Pro, or figure out where to access your gaming profile on your drivers default utility, then please post a screen shot of your settings there, and I will do what I can (or perhaps it will catch the attention of a radeon owner who can do more for you.) ObliviousParticle
*snip*Yeah sorry I forgot about spoilers, my bad. Yes I meant 13.1, as well 13.3 Beta. The default AMD program to configure drivers is the Catalyst Control Center. This is what my settings looks like: oi48.tinypic.com/fjnn9j.jpg I'm not using AA nor FXAA neither from the game or the drivers, but instead from a mod called FXAA Injector. I've had it for a while. I also applied the tweaks you mentioned, I'll go check if they helped any. Edited April 5, 2013 by ObliviousParticle
Dhegonus
i got rid of my micro stutter it is usually down to choking of the cpu, what you need is hialgo and ATTK, both found on here.. failing that, use gamebooster 3, that is an awesome resource freeing utility for pc gamers :)
Georgiegril
Sorry, your image link is not actually a link. Also, Dhegons suggestion that it could be a CPU issue could be true, though I think that usually causes lagging or stuttering vs. microstutter. Personally I find gamebooster uses as much memory as it supposedly frees-- I prefer manually turning off uneeded processes/service. you can create a simple .bat file to do this quickly, I can give you that info too if you want it. However since you have been able to play smoothly until quite recently, I personally would investigate the driver settings first. Unless you are hearing a lot of thrashing?
