tx3000mods
JUST A FOREWARNING...People can get made at me all they want, and not like what i have to say..Guess what...I DO NOT CARE.....ANYONE THAT PUSHES ANY TYPE OF blame ON me FOR ANY REASON, NO MATTER WHAT IT IS. will get blocked. I also don't care about what people post for me to try I will block you...I'm not asking for how to get this to work I'm complaining profusely because I'm sick of this and the people on this forum are really the only ones who condone crap like this: This is the way this thread is going to work and be. The blame for thos FALLS ON THE TUTORIAL CREATOR and no one else...Nothing in this is my fault...so were going to keep the blame where it belongs. I'm beyond sick and tired of idiotic comments being thrown around by people, saying the creator of the tutorial assumes the reader knows the basics before going there, or "This isn't school". It doesn't work like that and I don't care what anyone thinks. A tutorial means I don't have to know jack s*** about the subject I'm trying to learn about before going to the tutorial for it. When I go to a tutorial then that tutorial is going to teach me everything about it, and how to do it. NO EXCUSES, NONE OF THIS I NEED TO KNOW or it's assumed I know BASICS CRAP You're supposed to do what it says and it's supposed to work with no prior knowledge of whatever it's going over. END OF STORY. Here is the problem:This does not work in the the slightest with just the information on this page, so it shouldn't even remain allowed to be posted until it's fixed http://www.creationkit.com/Bethesda_Tutorial_Papyrus_Hello_World I followed everything on that page exactly how it said to do it, everything went fine except in the game it doesn't work whenI pressed E (Which is the default keybind I have for action)If that was an actual tutorial then when i went into the game and pressed E it would have worked and this topic wouldn't have been made. Again Don't bother posting any type or solution or anything like that because I'll block you and ignore what you post...I want how to do this on that tutorial...That's what it's supposed to be doing so thats where it belongs. I want to see the entire explinations and the entire process for getting this to work in the game on the page in this link http://www.creationkit.com/Bethesda_Tutorial_Papyrus_Hello_World I'm holding the meatnut that created that on the wiki accountable for this garbage, the people on this forum shouldn't be posting any type of solution allowing the creator of the tutorial to get away with this. If you want to post anything, instead of wasting your time and effort posting here, I suggest that people message the creator of that tutorial and or the wiki owner, telling them to remove the tutorial and not ever post incomplete crap like that and crap that doesn't work, until peopel can learn how to post things correctly. Just to make sure I have this right... You weren't able to learn from the tutorial, and now, you won't accept any information that would help you to succeed, from any other source? tx3000mods
Just to make sure I have this right... You weren't able to learn from the tutorial, and now, you won't accept any information that would help you to succeed, from any other source? No that's not even close to what I said, so stop twisting my words around and rewording what I said into something I never said. I didn't say I wouldn't take the help at all...I said I'm not going to take it from the forum because it doesn't belong on the forum so people will be wasting their time by posting it here. The only place I'm going to read any help, is on that wiki page itself where it belongs. This is the way this works: Since people want to direct people to that tutorial because it's the only one made about the scripting and everyone says go there to learn, because it willteach you everything you need to know, then guess what, that means if anyone really wants to help someone out, then they need to put the help where people are being directed to. If people want to direct people to that tutorial, then people who genuinely want to help can post/provide all the information they would reply with in this thread on what to do, on the page that tutorial is on...it's that simple. ========================================================================================================================================================================Now let me give anyone reading this an example of what reading that tutorial is like from someone such as my perspective. What I have below is exactly how confusing it is and how nonsensical what I've read so far is. After reading this, then you'll know how I feel These 2 lines are for the croutus grate mixturekjafhbkagbfjkb23459u2569u2j6h240ty2409opbthlkowejh4ty9puw34y6092u46-92u609u2069u2096uy02496u7 you add this:klhgnjbnglbjg now it should like like this:ajegthwougtwe Next you take this ---===??? and add it to the trestic line ; make sure this line isn't read because it is notes for humans In basic terms this is what it's doingIt's cramming cram 34 ingter space neggets to the left side to make sure it's balanced with the underrating sanc rutgus line at the bottom )Which looks like this) ----- 235ty Congratulations you now understand grafting (END EVENT ON TIMER Q 2 secon tricked aspect whole part piece jump to area squared by 5)----------------------------------------------------------------------- That's exactly what reading all of that is like It makes absolutely no sense and nothing is explained or broken down making it impossible to learn from. EnaiSiaion
It's a tutorial BY BETHESDA, not by "this forum", so I'm not sure why you're raging at us here. By the way, I know a thing or two about scripting and looked at that tutorial and don't actually see anything wrong with it. Note the fact that the discussion page is blank so clearly there isn't a massive wave of people stuck on this tutorial. Looks like a pebcak tbh. Ps. You don't need to "message the owner" to modify information on a wiki. ;D

Note the fact that the discussion page is blank so clearly there isn't a massive wave of people stuck on this tutorial. Looks like a pebcak tbh.And that's exactly what I said, only people who know this stuff already find nothing wrong with it even thought it's not even explained and a beginner like myself cannot learn from it...If it was explained and it could be learned from then why am I asking about all the missing information it doesn't provide that has to be explained, as well as why is it explained in terms nobly programmers can understand.: Since you seem to think it's so clear then why don't you explain exactly what these 2 things I have quoted below mean, why you would use them, how do you know enough when and where to use them, why you even need them. Oh yeah and do it in 3rd grade terms so it can be understood by people outside your circle oh yeah, place that information into the discussion page of it where that information belongs. int count ;stores the number... - int defines the type of variable. In this case an "Integer," a positive or negative number without a decimal point.int count ;stores the number... - count is the name we are giving the variable so we can refer to it later.int count ;stores the number... - anything after a semi-colon (;) is treated as a comment. That means NOT something that the script should care about, just something for humans looking at your script to be able to read to help understand what you are doing. Single equals sign (=) means: Take the what's on the right and shove it into the variable on the left.Double equals sign (==) means: Is the thing on the left the same as the thing on the right ________________________________________________________________ google is your friend Goggle directs me to that tutorial DINGUS Edited April 19, 2013 by tx3000mods
Werne
Ok, let's see: - Add a new object, okay- Attach a script to it, okay- Make a script using the following example script as reference, okay Event OnActivate (ObjectReference akActionReference) Debug.MessageBox("Hello, World!") endEvent - Test the script, okay The tutorial works, I followed it about a month ago when I tried understanding Papyrus and it worked perfectly. Don't know how you managed to mess it up though, it's pretty simple and clear.
