baranaar
Hello! I've tried looking up a solution on my own but I haven't been able to come across anything. Somehow, somewhere my deployment method on Vortex was changed to Symlink. Once this was done I have been unable to switch it back to Hardlink, even after having un-installing Vortex and re-installing it. Does anyone know a workaround or a solution to the issue? The attached picture is what I'm seeing, and it gives me no other option to change it.

baranaar
Vortex staging folder is installed onto my C: drive, the game I'm currently going to mod is Monster Hunter World, which is located on my A: drive. The problem though is that I know Vortex wasn't always deploying as Symlink, it used to be Hardlink.
Solution rmm200 Posted March 6, 2021 Solution Share Posted March 6, 2021 Irrespective of game - Windows requires hard linked files to be on the same drive. If your game is on the A: drive, and Monster Hunter World allows hard links, the mod staging folder must also be on A:. Windows rule.
