wfandrews
I wanted to use Darnified UI in my next game as I like the UI so I downloaded and installed it. I then started to install the game enhancers and stability mods that are so essential to a stable game, YUP Jip LN, Johnny Guitar etc.I had launched the game prior to this with just Darnified UI and Jip LN installed and it launched with no problem, I played to the auto save and then quit. After i had installed those stability mods I launched the game again. This time when I got to the menu the options were all scrunched together. I uninstalled the mods I had loaded except for Darnified UI and Jip Ln and started to install them one at a time. I found out it was YUP that was causing the problem. I installed Darnified UI with fomm and the other mods thru NMM if you think that would make a difference. I also have upgraded nvse to the latest version and the mods that depend on it are also upgraded; one of the reasons I was starting a new game besides wanting to play The High Desert. If anyone knows of a patch or a way to use Darniried UI with YUP I would be grateful, otherwise I guess I will just have to use MTUI as I believe YUP is a bit more important than Darnified UI.I really like that UI though. dubiousintent
Your problem is not YUP, but that the XML files have been modified out of order. "User Interface (UI)" problems indicate you have changed XML files. This is often caused by an "install order" problem with more than one mod replacing or editing the same XML file. Please see the wiki "HUD-UI-Menu issues" article. (This takes some interpretation as applies to your situation. There are too many permutations for an "if A then B" type of guide. If you haven't encountered XML files before then the "TL;DR" section is not going to help by itself.) "Disabling" mods is not enough to restore things to "vanilla" if they overwrote any files. UI mods definitely do this, and can make "edits" to other existing XML files. You have to "verify local files" to restore the originals, and still may need to delete the "loose files" so those vanilla versions get used from the BSA files. Then correct the sequence in which you install those UI affecting mods. Please see the 'Restoring to "Vanilla"' entry of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.-Dubious-
wfandrews
Thank you for your reply dubious. I have read through the page of the link you provided as pertaining to DarnifiedUI and from what I gathered YUP would probably not be the only mod which would conflict with that UI. I do not have the technical knowledge to understand everything that was discussed in that post and consequently am not very confident of my ability of making the changes I would need to do to have DarnifiedUI installed and run with YUP and also MCM which from what that post said I would also have to patch. I have set the game back to normal and am just going to play with my normal settings and mods so I am able to play The High Desert, which I am quite looking forward to. I have my own system for creating a vanilla game which incorporates Revo uninstaller and which I have used for all my games for a few years now and which works quite well, but thank you for the advice. GamerRick
Did you forget to change the fonts to the DarnUI ones in the ini file? Edited March 11, 2021 by GamerRick

gnarly1
In my last FNV playthrough I'm fairly certain I used Darnified UI with YUP with no problems. I followed this guide by Gopher:
wfandrews
I wish I had been aware of that guide earlier. Since I posted my problem I have installed and run FNV with DarnifiedUI with no problem. When I downloaded Darnified UI from Nexus I got the impression that I should install the mod first and let other mods overwrite it, such as UIO and MCM. As I was trying to find a solution I came across a page with a link to TTW and Roy Batty's instructions on installing the mod. I also downloaded Darnified UI and DarnifiedMCM from the links that were provide on that page. He instructed that I do the exact opposite of what I had done to install the mod . In other words I should install other mods first and then install Darnified UI and let it overwrite those other mods. As I had downloaded and installed the patches and ini mods like Johnny Guitar and UIO in preparation to starting a new game I just uninstalled MTUI and installed Darnified UI and DrniriedMCM with NMM and it worked with no problem. As in most cases it was my own lack of knowledge that caused the problem. I should have posted that I had solved the problem. Thank you for your reply.
