This is one problem "ran xEdit to clean the plugins". This should never be done.

Rich Traders - 2x.esp
Rich Traders - 4x.esp
Rich Traders - 10x.esp Use only one.

You are not reading the instructions on the mod page or the ReadMe. Go back to the mod description page for the LFox Night Vision and read what you are supposed to do.

What have you installed that does not appear in the load order?.

Did you start and run the game without mods?

the only thing not included in the LO is JIP LN NVSE and of course NVSE, NVAC, and NVSR latest version for all.... i didn't even think about the multiples of those mods...now i realize the mistake i made... also I've ran the game with no mods (just what you get from GOG ) and i still got CTD but, i deactivated the couriers stash and no CTD since... is it possible that their file is somehow corrupt??...thanks for your help...anything else you could pass along such as highly recommended mods would be great

*** as a side note, i was told on reddit that running xEdit could help find and fix errors also LOOT recommends it

If you are getting CTDs with the vanilla game, you should not be adding mods until it is corrected. You can verify your game cache from GOG to repair any bad downloads.

There is a problem with NVSR and you should have read the comments section. It has been replaced with New Vegas Tick Fix https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66537

Getting a stable game is more than downloading mods and hoping for the best. It requires reading the mod description page and any comments.

You should never download and install a lot of mods without having a stable vanilla game. This will only lead to problems, as you have found out.

There are a few things I won't do to get a stable game. One is to get advice from reddit, two is to use Vortex and third is to use LOOT. The Vortex fanboys will tell you that FOMM and NMM are outdated and to only use Vortex. They seem to forget that the games are also old. After reading the comments I decided to pass and continue using FOMM. It was made to manage mods for Fallout3 and FNV and nothing else.

I did clean a mod once with xEdit and it only caused the game to crash. I had to reinstall the original file and this corrected the crashing.

again thanks...but i didnt download mods to get a stable game... i just didnt play the vanilla long enough to know it was unstable before adding mods... as for not reading descriptions or read mes, i have read them before...for all the mods i downloaded....just didnt read them this time because i had before (granted that was years ago) i just simply downloaded the mods i knew to work....like you said if its not broken dont fix it....they we're made to work with an older game....sound familiar...i use nmm to this day...HATE VORTEX.....never used fomm ....not broke no fix right?? thanks for the heads up about NVSR tho....any more nuggets of wisdom?? and this time do you think you could pass them along without coming across like you have a chip on your shoulder??

thanks

and as far as reddit goes they have an entire section dedicated to modding/fixing/improving the vanilla game (alot of the modders here are also there) basically nexus....they just dont host the mods there

Vortex is completely fine and works well with New Vegas.

As for NVSR, use the Tick Fix instead, it is still updated and even does a few things better than NVSR.

As for other tips, thereâs always going to be contradicting information youâll find, the state of how to mod the game constantly changes and old information is still floating around the web.

I recommend reading the description of mods you want to install, sometimes reading the comments can help too.

But the crashing issue you had definitely is an issue caused by the Stutter Remover.

Cleaning plugins in xEdit is fine, especially for small mods. There is a few exceptions however. do not ever clean the official plugins/ master files, it will only cause issues. Mods that are well madeshould not require you to clean them anyway, with the exception of some very specific cases, which the mod author will mention in the description.

and this time do you think you could pass them along without coming across like you have a chip on your shoulder??

If you want further help, this is not the way to go about it. There are literally dozens of threads posted here and elsewhere (such as Reddit) by mod users having problems with conflicts or CTD that could have been easily resolved by reading through those threads.

And they're almost always on the first page of a relevant Google search.

What makes this thread worse is that you asked for help diagnosing the problem with your modlist, and then you admit that the vanilla game crashes.

I'm sure you can appreciate how irritating that must be for someone who has taken the time to try to help you.

As for 'other nuggets', read through the other troubleshooting threads here and acquaint yourself with the Viva New Vegas modding guide, specifically the Bugs and Utilities sections and the Mods to Avoid section.

so update it wasn't NVSR it was actually FalloutNV_lang.esp...on the vanilla side....then after i added mods it was MCM...it had caused some issues in the registy

AS a side-note if your gonna pretend t be nice enough to try and help some body you should also pretend to act like its not a chore to do so....i understand full well that you guys hear the same issues time and again and it can be redundant, but if you're really so hung up about hearing the same story on repeat its always easier and faster to let someone else respond and take a break instead of you being stressed and coming across as rude.....i do appreciate your answering the post, but this crap where people act bothered by helping other people is dumb.....nobody said you had to respond to the post you chose to.....

THANKS AGAIN

~BY THE WAY THE ISSUE WASNT FIXED BY READING A RELEVANT POST ON GOOGLE...(or reddit) it was fixed by somebody that had the same exact issue and was helped by gromulos on the nexus....thats why i asked here.....like it or not you guys are pretty much the authority when it comes to this stuff.....like it or not people are gonna come to you guys for help....and lastly like it or not...not everyone likes to be talked down to.....my suggestion, if this starts to stress you out take a hiatus....step back.....its not all on a SINGLE persons shoulders to take on these tasks

Nobody is 'pretending' to be nice. But if you want help we expect you to have taken reasonable steps to resolve the issue yourself, like ensuring the vanilla game actually works.

I never said that the solution is always found on the first page of Google and I was talking in general terms, not specifically about your problem.

yeah...sorry my bad...you're completely right you SHOULD be disappointed that i bought a game that came out 10+ years ago that has a useless, unnecessary esp in it thats bugged ....and shame on me for thinking a publisher distributed product that came out 10+ years ago should surely work out of the box.....

never said you claimed that was always the way to fix the problem....and if you were speaking in general terms and not to me about my problem then you posted why??.....dont get sloppy joe....just eat your sandwich and simmer
