Game freezing and CTD after careful maintanence

Trying to play Skyrim...

1. I have a screaming machine. It can more than handle Skyrim.

2. My pc is up to date with all updates.

3. I've run malware and virus programs and my pc is clean.

4. I've manually removed mods from mod manager that came up with mesh deletions.

5. I've cleaned every dirty edit using TES5-Edit.

6. I've made sure that the master list Boss created has no problems i.e. anything out of order.

I've abandoned games I've started already because I'm under the assumption they will be corrupted now. Those games will look for the files/mods I deleted and CTD when they cannot find them.

Now when I start a new game it freezes. It's random. Yesterday it froze in Riverwood. Today it froze while I was escaping the dragon (closer to the beginning of the game while still in Helgen).

Why is my game freezing?

Diry edits cleaned check

No mesh deletions interfering check

Load order correct check

Is there something I should be doing that I am not doing?

Is there a limit to how many mods we should have even if our pc can handle it?

Also, I forgot to mention that I verified the game with steam yesterday and it said there were 3 files missing and that it updated it.

I verified today and it said there was one file missing and it updated it.

I used Game-Booster. Could that be the problem?

I launch the mod manager inside game booster and start my game that way.

I've been trouble-shooting this thing for days and I'm am truly stuck.

Anyone who advises me, I thank you in advance for taking the time.

Freezing suggests you are running out of memory.

This could be from having a bunch of mods that are all trying to spawn stuff, render graphics, etc. at one time

It could be from other computer services/processes/apps taking precedence and using RAM

It could be from accidental settings in your driver causing your driver to search for something that isn't there (for example, recent NVidia drivers set to force 4-way Crossfire on single GPU systems after update)

It could be from a setting you've changes in your .ini files, too.

It could also be a mod conflict that has not been identified by BOSS.

I also recall something about Game Booster not working well with skse loader, so if you are trying to use skse you might have a look at that. Personally I have found Gamebooster to use as much memory as it claims to save, so I don't use it and just manually close unnecessary services/processes.

Have you checked your memory use in game, with something like CPU-Z?

When you start a new game, no mods, complete clean install, no changes to ini files etc, do you still freeze? If so, then it is probably something with your driver or other computer resources.

If no, try adding changes slowly, one or two at a time, run BOSS and play a bit before adding another couple and repeating.

Are you using a lot of texture replacers? Try removing them - if they don't have esps, then it's quite safe to add or remove them. Even if your machine is omnipotent, Skyrim is still a weak program. It often chokes when loading a lot of assets at once.

Okay I quit freezing. Now it's just a CTD problem.

I checked my graphics driver - it's all good.

I made sure all the programs I'm using for the game are allowed by my firewall.

I set the TesV.exe file to high priority.

I even set mod manager to high priority.

I removed all mods boss does not recognize.

I removed all mods that take up too much VRam.

I reset the load order with boss after doing so.

I now CTD when exiting the northern pass on the way to Whiterun (because I like to pick up the dragonstone on the way rather than back track).

So now it's not random. It's a definite problem when trying to load after exiting the pass.

I will check my mods again.

Thank you again for your suggestions and help.

Could you post your BOSS log (preferably in a /spoiler tag)?

Your OS, System Memory, and Graphics card would also be useful information.

Also, if you've made any tweaks to your .ini's could you post those in /spoiler tags as well.

Okay everyone, here's what happened. My son came home from a trip and diagnosed the problem as a root kit virus in my pc.

We wiped.

I'm starting from scratch.

I've just got it to where I'm installing mods again.

My son is helping.

If I continue to have problems, I will give you my Boss load order.

Thank you everyone for all the help you are giving.
