Nalo1993
Okay so I just bought my self a brand new monitor that is 16:9 and is hooked up through HDMI. My old monitor was a 4:5 and was hooked up with DVI. Since I have been using my new monitor Skyrim went from 45-50 FPS to a whopping 2-3 FPS. However when I either switch back to the 4:5 Monitor or have both of them plugged up at the same time, the game runs fine. I am not sure what might be the cause of this, and I cannot find any solutions online. Specs:Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bitIntel i3 3.30 ghz dual-core6GB RAMGeForce GT 640 2GB I can run Skyrim on ultra graphics with HD texture mods on the 4:5, but the 16:9 can't even run vanilla Skyrim on low graphics. If anyone has a sulution or any knowledge of this please respond.
TonyTitan
Does your monitor require any driver software to be installed? It's kinda hard to say since you don't mention anything about your monitor...What brand is it, size, etc....I'm running a 32" TV as a monitor using HDMI input and not having any issue with low FPS. So I'm not sure what could be your issue.

Georgiegril
I think the problem is that your card is pretty low-end, and the higher resolution is pushing your performance down. (See linked review from Engadget)If you wanted to keep the monitor, you might try limiting your fps to 28, lowering your game graphics settings and/or removing mods that increase strain on the gpu (like hi-res texture mods, lighting mods, etc.)Or you could go back to the old monitor, if that was working for you. Unless Crysis 3 graphics are actually lower than everyone says they are. EDIT: that is on both the Acer and the Samsung that I can play at high graphics Edited April 27, 2013 by Nalo1993
Nalo1993
Well this is embarrassing I found the solution to my problem....I plugged into the wrong HDMI port on my computer. Switched the ports up and now my game runs perfectly.
