aslohr01 Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Like many other people, having trouble getting my Nexus mods to work. Lets take Blade and Sorcery. Using Vortex... I've downloaded several, and pretty sure most are for the updated version. I tried to attach a pic of my path, but don't think it took. I'm using Rift, and the path is Oculus Downloads/ Software/ warpfrog-blade-sorcery/ BladeAndSorcery_Data/ StreamingAssets/ Mods Thank you in advance.
HadToRegister Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Is that where Vortex put the Mod Staging Folder, or is that where You told vortex to put it?
aslohr01 Posted March 26, 2021 Author Posted March 26, 2021 It weird. I manually created the path to the warpfrogbladesorcery folder on my D drive. But somehow all my mods were put in a folder on my C drive. Oculus is on my D drive, so I manually dropped the mods into the folder called mods.. The 'read me' file even said, drop mods here. Thank you for asking.

Thank you for asking. That is exactly why you're having problems. For one, you're NEVER, EVER supposed to put the Mod Staging folder INSIDE the Game folder, if you had tried to do that using Vortex Like (you're SUPPOSED to), Vortex would've told you that you can't put the mod staging folder inside your Game folder. You need to create the Mod Staging folder using vortex. You've got a mess to clean up now, you can't expect Vortex to just "know" where you manually created a Mod Staging Folder when you created it outside of Vortex without it knowing about it The mod staging folder needs to be on the same drive as the game. And it should be a SHORT PATH, something like D:\Vortex Mods\ With a path as long as you made it, even if vortex would work with the mod staging folder inside the game folder, you'd get an APP PATH TOO LONG error when you tried to install the first mod.
HadToRegister Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Gotchya. Is there a way to reset? IN VORTEX...
aslohr01 Posted March 28, 2021 Author Posted March 28, 2021 I appreciate your responses. I ended up pasting all my mods in every folder in that screenshot. I had two new maps show up, so I'm guessing that work. I'm guessing the weapons mods that didn't show up weren't updated. I'll delete them out of each folder one at a time until the maps disappear, and then I'll know which folder to use. Thanks again.
aslohr01 Posted March 28, 2021 Author Posted March 28, 2021 I followed your screenshot and I only have one deployment option. :(
HadToRegister Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 I followed your screenshot and I only have one deployment option. :sad:Like I told you in another post, the Mod Staging Folder needs to be on the SAME DRIVE as the Game, so Change the Mod Staging Folder path to some like D:\Vortex Mods\{game} You don't need that MODS folder after {game} because you're going to end up with this Fallout 4\Mods\Fallout 4Fallout 4\Mods\OblivionFallout 4\mods\Blade and Sorcery Just using {game} means Vortex will automatically create the mod folder for you. So you'll get something like this D:\vortex mods\Fallout4D:\vortex mods\OblivionD:\vortex mods\Blade and Sorcery etc
