JamestheFreak
I thought this was supposed to make mods and the DLCs work better but instead the entire area level of my Lonesome Road DLC has become glitched up, when I used the normal edit to check for errors I got this showing up. [00:00] NVDLC04VistaRegion [REGN:0100C11B][00:00] REGN \ Region Data Entries \ Region Data Entry \ RDID - Imposters \ Imposter -> [0100C11D] < Error: Could not be resolved >[00:00] REGN \ Region Data Entries \ Region Data Entry \ RDID - Imposters \ Imposter -> [0100C11F] < Error: Could not be resolved > Is there anyway to undo quick auto cleans with the normal edit? trying to uninstall and reinstall the DLC on steam didn't work and I really don't want to be forced to completely uninstall the entire game and all the mods and plugins. This screenshot is what I pretty much see when I first leave the bunker in the beginning area. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2250571141 I tried to uninstall and reinstall but it didn't work for some reason which doesn't make sense, stupid steam probably doesn't even fully uninstall it when I click it off in the dlc options. M48A5
Here is the link to the manual for XEdit. Since it works for all Bethesda games from Oblivion on, you only need this one. https://tes5edit.github.io/docs/index.html You can look it over and see if you can fix the problem or you can verify your game cache and the new DLC files will be downloaded. HadToRegister
You should NOT clean Fallout New Vegas DLCs, that is the general consensus.Tale of Two Wastelands requires the original DLC, (Uncleaned)People who clean the DLC will have missing floors etc, especially in Dead Money.I've seen several people asking for help with Dead Money and missing items, walls, floors etc, always turns out they Cleaned the DLC. JamestheFreak
I did the verify cache but now when I try to leave the bunker in LR I get stuck in an infinite loading screen and then get an error pop up saying the game is out of memory, maybe this save file is just screwed but I dunno if the DLC will be back to normal if I were to start a new game. Try starting a new game, because something could be baked into your save that causes the memory error. Did you use the 4gb patch?

dubiousintent
Most likely your save games are corrupted due to having cleaned the DLC files, so starting over is really your best bet. Anything else if probably going to cause problems down the road. Any time you remove a plugin from your current play-through "load order" you risk corrupting your save game files. This is because plugins typically store information there as to the state of their variables and quests. If you picked up a unique (non-vanilla) item added by a mod (or cleaned DLC), that item (like any item you pick up) is stored in the save game, but also requires the plugin it came from to be available as that item's "source records". In the case of "body replacement" mods, especially if they use a "custom race", it is highly likely you will have to start over if you can't switch back to a vanilla race first. Hence the general advice to never remove a plugin from your current game. -Dubious-
JamestheFreak
Well I decided to do a new game and now I got a new problem, all I did was uninstall some quest mods to save for later and updated mods that got updates and now when I start the game there's some black rectangle in the middle of my screen and still shows up if I start the game whenever I pause. How do I fix this I don't want to resort to uninstall and deleting the entire game and have to redownload every single mod again, why is this happening to me? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2455750737 Edited April 13, 2021 by JamestheFreak
dubiousintent
"User Interface (UI)" problems indicate you have changed XML files. This is often caused by an "install order" problem with more than one mod replacing or editing the same XML file. Please see the wiki "HUD-UI-Menu issues" article. (This takes some interpretation as applies to your situation. There are too many permutations for an "if A then B" type of guide. If you haven't encountered XML files before then the "TL;DR" section is not going to help by itself.) "Disabling" mods is not enough to restore things to "vanilla" if they overwrote any files. UI mods definitely do this, and can make "edits" to other existing XML files. You have to "verify local files" to restore the originals, and still may need to delete the "loose files" so those vanilla versions get used from the BSA files. Then correct the sequence in which you install those UI affecting mods. Please see the 'Restoring to "Vanilla"' entry of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.-Dubious-
JamestheFreak
Thanks for the help, I think it was the vanilla UI plus mod I had that caused it but I fixed the problem now.
