Good Games for Screwing Around

I enjoy playing video games, and really getting into the mechanics of it and whatnot is fun. But I also really like messing around in a game for no actual game benefit whatsoever. For a simple example, it's fun to play any MMO and dive off ridiculously tall towers (especially if the game has slow-falling, like DDO). Obviously, open world games like the Elder Scrolls series allow you to do tons of fun stuff, if you're dedicated enough. My questions is this: what are some games that really lend themselves to, basically, being silly? Not at all genre-specific.

Saint's Row(franchise) The whole point of that game is screwing around. And the character customisation and shear diversity of screwing around possibilities are astonishing, for example, you can play as an obese transgender zombie with pink hair and a hitler moustache. It's the best screwing around game franchise I know, especially 2 and 3. Just Cause 2 aswell, very cheap, but great for screwing around. Borderlands 2 is another valid option, and Grand Theft Auto 5 looks brilliant too.

Grand Theft Auto 5 looks brilliant too.

GTA 5 will probably flop. Just saying.

As for other games to screw around in, maybe Scribblenauts if you're not too concerned about things being without any adult undertones. Even through the word list is a little limiting and the creation options kinda suck, it's still good for several hours of drama-free mischief. Also helps refresh your vocabulary.

Other than Minecraft. When I'm in a "screw around" kind of mood with my games I like the ones where I can play god. I've you've never played From Dust then that's a nice game to mess around in, make a couple of characters in the Sims, start a last stand in GTA IV and see how long you can survive. Steam has a free weekend on a Marvel game at the moment!

Minecraft!

Far Cry 3 has a bunch of stuff that could allow you to just mess around. better if you havent captured anything, then there would be no one to kill. but even without killing, theres places to explore. hang gliding, jet skiing, driving, racing, etc, etc.
