Skyrim through Mod Organizer 2 Widescreen

Dear Dovakins,

I have the problem, that if I start Skyrim SE through the MO 2, the Screen isn't in 21:9. Everything is a little bit streched. I modified the ini-files and stuff, but nothing seems to work. Is there a solution for the problem? If I start Skyrim through the MO 2 ony my 16:9 monitor, everything works well, but on my 21:9 it looks streched and awful.

I hope someone had the problem too and can help ......

Why on Earth would you do that?

If your mods are in a decent order, go offline, launch Steam in offline mode and load the game with the SKSE launcher.

Because MO2 uses a VFS, so you need to have MO2 running in order for the VFS to work, otherwise you'll have no mods.

Well, I never use Mod Manglers anyway, and everything I hear about them reinforces my opinion.

So what's a VFS when it's at home?

And why not have MO2 running with Steam offline and launch through SKSE?

That's too bad, because whatever you're hearing about Mod Managers, is definitely coming from uninformed people

VFS is "Virtual File System", using MO2, Mods are installed, but there are no physical files put in the Game Folder, so the Game looks exactly like you just downloaded it, completely free of Mod files.

You have to Run MO2 which in turn runs SKSE, having Steam Online of Offline is completely irrelevant to the problem, and has no bearing on the screen resolution.

I never use Mod Manglers because I know how to manually sort my load order. But more than that, installing UFO with a Mod Mangler breaks it, and I've used that mod since it was first released. UFO has it's own scripts for installing and uninstalling. All mods should be made that way, but that's not possible.

Just call them Mod Managers, and stop the silly names.

Just because you have a problem with them doesn't mean they qualify for you call them "Mod Manglers"

I have 381 mods installed for Skyrim SE with Vortex, a few hundred converted to ESL by Vortex.

I've made a handful of sorting rules, for some mods, and the rest was sorted with LOOT built into Vortex, with minimal input from me.

Everything runs fine.

I can install mods and get a game up and running within minutes without agonizing over my load order and inspecting them with something like Xedit.

If I want to return my install to Factory Settings (Just downloaded), I simply hit PURGE, and all of the mods are completely wiped because they weren't really in the game folder, they were just there through a virtual link (hardlink) through Vortex.

I really don't care. "Agonising" over load order - NINE YEARS AGO - is how I learned more about how mods work than most people who Click'n'Play with 3rd Party Tools.

We have had this sort of conversation before, and I cannot quite tell if you are a little bit dim, a little bit argumentative or a little bit of a troll.

But the main point is, the poor OP has had his game borked by a Mod Mangler, and all you have done is take issue with me!

Why don't you use the benefit of your vast, extensive, overwhelming Mod Mangler experience and tell the poor guy how to TELL THE TOOL what resolution and aspect ratio to run the game in, rather than THE TOOL DICTATING TO HIM?

HELP the guy.

You don't care, but here you still are, keeping the person's thread completely off-topic.

I was trying to help him, but YOU dragged the thread completely off topic with your "Mod Mangler" nonsense, and your bizarre recommendation that running Steam OFFLINE would somehow help with his screen resolution problem, adding to the fact that you had no idea how MO2 works, and that it HAS to run in order to use it's VFS (something else you didn't know what it was), forcing everybody who tries to help the OP, having to explain away everything wrong you suggested to the OP before they can help.

I only jumped in initially to correct the misinformation you gave the OP in order to try and steer the topic back to something that actually made sense instead of telling him to do something as weird as putting Steam Offline to somehow fix his screen resolution.

I've been modding since 2003 with Morrowind when we had to install mods Manually, and it totally SUCKS, but I've learned about installing mods in these 18 years of doing it is pretty extensive, and in those 18 years, I've also learned that installing mods manually SUCKS, and thanks to mod managers (GOOD Mod Managers, ones that actually DO something, Not like NMM) are a godsend.

Liar, confirmed. You have not directed a single comment at the OP, you have addressed only me.

I also made none of those ludicrous "recommendations" you suggested. I asked a question.

I would have thought he would have to have the inis set up for his screen resolution and aspect ratio. I do.

But he also needs to stop the Mod Mangler ignoring his settings. Maybe there's a setting within the Mod Mangler itself for screen resolution and aspect ratio? I don't know and I don't care.

Now would you please address the OP instead of behaving like Trump after all the polls have closed?

How you the have time and energy for this is a mystery, and why you would choose this path instead of helping the guy is an even bigger mystery. I see them on YouTube spouting on for days about End TImes and Beast Marks and Anti-Vaxxer conspiracies.
