RustyAxe
I bought a new lap top from Dell and I tried to download Vortex from Nexus but it will neither down load automatically or download manually. Nothng happens. I have turned off firewalls and antivirus software (McAfee) and disabled my VPN. I have tried downloading using Chrome and Edge and nothing happens. I have an old PC tower and I have no problems there. What am I missing?ThanksRA
rmm200
First make sure you are downloading from here: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/1 Next, what response do you get when you click Manual Download? Look in your Downloads directory. Is there any new file with current timestamp? Obnoxious anti-virus programs often rename .exe files - to "protect" you. They always leave something as evidence though.
Guest deleted34304850
have you got macafee on your dell? they tend to load their machines with a ton of garbage including that POS. if its there you may want to look at removing it. windows defender is more than adequate for any personal system. MAReya
I'm having the same problem... doesn't matter what I press, manual or automatic, nothing happens. No current timestamps, no virus programs interfering. Using the correct link.It WILL take me to the countdown (you're download will start in 5... 4... and so on) and then tell me it's started and nothing happens. Guest deleted34304850
do you have any browser addons that can interfere with downloads, because it does work, which suggests something in your set up is stopping the download from starting. you could try another browser - or an instance of a browser with no addons enabled. MAReya
Brave, Vivaldi (my usual), Chrome, aaaaand, just for fun I downloaded firefox and tried that. Oh! And the hated Edge... which I never ever use if I can help it. Nothing. Frustrating.

It must be something to do with your system, because i can download with FIrefox, Vivaldi and Chrome Check your firewall
RustyAxe
That's what is strange...nothing happens. No time stamp, no download. No indication on the left corner that anything is even attempting to download. Hitting manual download does nothing either. No files in the download folder. IT like there's nothing to download. I disabled my VPN, firewall and antiviral before attempting to downloald and still nothing. II have never had this issue before.

Because there's something in Windows 10, where stupid, seemingly unimportant things stop working until you upgrade. One time I couldn't run a program that I use all the time, I'd double click on it, get the cursor with the hourglass then nothing, it wouldn't even show up in my Task Manager, it just wouldn't run. I rebooted and it ran just fine after that
Guest deleted34304850
a very simple process of elimination.1. the dowload works for many.2. the download does not work for you.3. you have tried on several browsers - same result. the only logical conclusion to take here is that the issue is local to you. you'll have to undertake your own analysis of what is stopping you. could be firewall, could be antivirus, could be a system issue. no way for anyone to tell from here.good luck and let us know what you find when you figure it out.
