I can not load my old saves but can start a new game

My saves files are still there, somehow the game is not properly loading them. I also know why it happened: On vortex I was messing around with the profile to see what it does. I edited the profile to turn on the option "this profile has its own saved game", and then when I start the game the option load is greyed out. When I turn off that option and start the game I still could not load my previous saves. Any fix?

Also a seperate note, I could not get my AAF to work on my old saves, but when I start a new game it properly loaded and was working, the new game has all the mods I was using on my old save. Any reason to why that happens?

Yea, you shouldn't go blindly turning features on and off.

While I have no idea what Game you're talking about, because you never mentioned it, I'll use Skyrim as an example

Your saves are still available, what happened when you turned the "This game has its own saves", is a folder was created in "My Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves\BUNCH OF RANDOM LETTERS AND NUMBERS\

For that profile, and it starts from scratch.

If you keep that setting "This game has its own saves" turned ON, just copy the saves in your defaults SAVES folder to the folder with the BUNCH OF RANDOM NUMBERS AND LETTERS

For instance, one of my Profile folders is "1pOarCluf" and my saves for that particular profile are in that folder instead of the Skyrim Special Edition\ root folder

So what happens to my default save folder? If I save the game now would it save to both the new folder and the default one?

Any idea why AAF would work on new game but not my older saves?

Your default save folder stays where it is.

If you leave the "This profile has its own saves" turned ON, then any save you make in that profile, goes to that Profiles folder.

That's why I said, you can copy the saves from the main save folder to the profile folder.

I have no idea what AAF is, because I can't remember every acronym for the thousands of mods on the Nexus.
